On a serious note, I have witnessed some poor and inconsistent officiating at live games and on most televised games this year, but that referee at our game against the Wire last Friday should never take charge of a SL fixture ever again. Beyond crap.

What I did see as Pickering Red has pointed out was two players going toe to toe trading punches. Cox threw punches, albeit not very good ones. Green was / is being treated differently for landing the best one.

Exactly. Refs are often inept but I don't believe any are dishonest. When you play a better team things seem to go against you because they play at a higher tempo and you're often hanging on and trying to slow them down

Most of the big decisions were made by the referee after consulting the linesman. The referee did the right thing so he can't be blamed if the linesmen are giving him duff information. I could go into a very long winded post on how the crowds are blinkered but it would only cause an argument. ATEOTD the referee does not lose you a game (unless you're Steve Ganson), it is the players who lose the game.

Bottom line is whatever Cox did or didn't do Green flattened him, which by definition is an attack on the head which will result in a ban. As for wire never getting done for this, Ashton Sims got a 2 match ban the other week for punching when he was clearly defending himself in a more obvious way from someone trying to attack him.

This conspiracy stuff is rubbish, I've still yet to hear anyone say they actually saw this headbutt, most of us only saw the aftermath which was Cox flapping around and Green decking him. Yes we got the penalty but that was for Cox leading with the elbow, not a sending off or a ban deserving offence. Struggling to see much problem apart from Green lost his head under provocation.

I totally agree with you how many do we shout forward at the opposition passes but when our own team does one there's a muffled we got away with that one all fans are bias to a certain extent refs give bad decisions every week it's just the way it is what goes around comes around
