Love a conspiracy theory, me. My favourite is that the works credited to Shakespeare were really written by Francis Bacon or Edward De Vere or Roger Manners or Christopher Marlowe (despite his being dead) or James Smailes. Sadly the Lastian school of thought on Rovers years in the England academy wilderness can do no more than point to a correlation (which is of course not necessarily a causitive effect) and a simple alignment of incentives, rather than come up with something really intriguing. And we have to acknowledge that we have not produced that many players over the last few years. But...

Surely youd think if players are good enough both clubs may want them and the player passes the team over
