I suppose by reducing the players wages by a lot if the rumours are true who are going then maybe next yr things will be different I don't know and understand enough about it all

What does that have to do with HKR's finances?
BTW, including the players as assets does not effect the profit or loss figures.

| personally I couldn't care less, I go to watch my team on the pitch not get excited about balance sheets or which clubs make the most money or sells the most shirts.
As our debts are owed to our own directors who are fans like me and are not going to pull their money out it seems a bit irrelevent really

Poor outlook
Sport is a business now and we naturally have to break even - wipe our face to borrow a Hudge term.
Our directors don't have a bottomless pit of money so eventually we have to become self efficient.
Our losses are going in the right direction though but shouldn't be just brushed aside that they don't matter.

As attempts go, that was pretty poor.

well they don't matter to me, having stood at the harvey haddon stadium watching us beat nottingham city in front of a couple of hundred, or at runcorn highfield, or on a freezing february day at the skolars I can safely say its all about the rugby with me rather than petty point scoring with the dark side about how they make loads of money and we haven't got a pot to piddle in, that's all

Not poor enough for you to comment. What is poor is Hull fans clutching at the fact that the only chance of them bigging it up is if their big rivals are in debt.

| If you wish to discuss the Mojave dry subject of our accounts, feel free - it comes but once a year. If you want to discuss Hull's finances, do it on their board. If you want to troll or derail - restrain yourself. It's been done before and stifles what should be serious and very boring discussion. Ta.
We're losing money, which is bad. We're losing it about half the rate we used to - which if not exactly good, is at least better. The prospect of us being self-sustaining is not quite so distant. Whether we'll ever do it while spending the cap, I don't know. The new TV deal is better though and if the improvements to CP prove to be economic... then you can bet they'll increase the cap!

It's not going to happen overnight is it and maybe it's a good thing if we don't spend up to the cap next season it's not exactly doing us any good this season

No need for concern, we've sold out to Dr Evil (Allam) and your lot have sold out Minime (Pearson), we're billions in debt (ask Mrs B) and your lot have a tax bill that dwarfs both Lester Piggott and Ken Dodd's bill, we're both screwed so might aswell get massively into debt and at least cost the axis of evil a bit more cash.
Anybody any idea what colour our merged team should be in...

On the positive side, the loss is £47k less than the previous year. When added to the fact this year attendances have held up, and cost-cutting activities are in place according to the accounts, coupled with the salary cap savings on Mason and Cockayne and increased merchandise sales from "box office" Mason's arrival, perhaps breakeven for 2011 is on the cards. You'd imagine that is the target.
Looking over a longer time horizon, Rovers have lost £2.1m since 2003. The challenge is to get to a sustainable breakeven model for the time (eventually) when Hudgell and co may wish to step down and a buyer is sought. The route to this as previously discussed is to a) get the ground extended and b) to fill it.
