Fewings of the Mail said on Sportstalk tonight that attempting to bury the bad news of stalwart Briscoe's departure as a derisory footnote in the announcement about Galea was a "complete disgrace by that club".

It does seem a bit strange that they haven't let Briscoe tell his team mates first.

De-railing a bit from the news about Briscoe, though. As has been said, what a great servant he has been to rugby league in the city. I'm sure we all wish him the absolute best. You know when you can remember where you were at precise moments of receiving important news? I can remember exactly where I was when we found out he'd been taken to hospital with appendicitis and was going to miss the Challenge Cup final. A travesty he didn't get the opportunity. Great player, great bloke.

As the stadium to be unrecognisable by the end of July, then your hoping a bit ain't you!!! The east stand ext will now not be built. Apparantly not the demand to build it. Heard it first hand from the steering group meeting that they recently started. Better news for the north stand. But by the end of July???? Be lucky it's built by the start of next season.
