| Quote Mild Rover="Mild Rover"Fey may refer to:
A word meaning "wild or crazy acting", often ascribed to supernatural causes and evidenced by abnormal behavior (cognate to Old Norse feigr, German feige).
In Scottish superstition, supernatural abilities such as prophecy (not necessarily related to dying or death).
A common spelling for fay ("a fairy"), unrelated to the previous.
Other worldly; as "An Aquarian can be "fey" in their interactions with others"...

You see, that reads just like a pmh post, but Google shows it to be a real character and story from contemporary popular culture. There is a thin line...

| Peanuts are not technically a nut.
They are actually a type of pea/bean (legumes).

That's interesting, I'm allergic to peanuts (I have to carry one of those stabby things around with me and get Uma Thurman to wrestle me to the ground every time I have a Snickers) but not to peas. I'm also allergic to other types of nuts which I think are nuts. Almonds. Are they nuts?

We are talking on a purely botanical sence here.
That being the case Brazil nuts are out as well as are Cashew and Pistachios.
The word "nut" in botanical terms has a fairly precise definition: A nut is the compound ovary of a plant. It is both the seed (or perhaps two conjoined seeds) and the fruit. Technically it can't be anything that splits, has a big fruit around it, or comes clustered together with other seeds. Every nut is a seed, but not every seed is a nut.
Some examples might help: Walnuts, filberts (hazelnuts), pecans, and chestnuts are all genuine nuts. They grow from a flower as basically stand-alone objects.

| Now I don't eat a lot of nuts (as Uma's not always available) but I definitely can eat chestnuts, I've eaten pistachios in pesto by mistake and didn't die.
It's very irritating, although it did once get me about $200 of free wine when a restaurant in Los Angeles accidentally gave me some in a salad.
Anyway, kitchen knives. I know there's a lot of love for Global, but i like a nice Henkel, lovely and not too expensive.
Obviously if money's no object then you'd struggle to beat on of these bad boys.

| Ginger nuts are not nuts either. They are biscuits.
Jaffa Cakes are not biscuits. They are, as the name suggests, cakes. McVitie's fought HMRC to prove it:

Running with the QI theme, the average number of spiders you swallow while sleeping, over your life time is, thinking about it, 0. And even if it isn't, how would you know? Nobody is going to fund that sort of research.
Those little black fly on the other hand...
Kids if your parents take you to Hornsea over Easter...
1. Don't wear a white/very pale t-shirt
2. Focus on the money you'll save when the balance of power has changed and the time comes to select their care home.

| My next door neighbour has definitely got ginger nuts. Unless he shaves? I must remember to ask.
I woke up with a spider in my mouth once, it might have been looking for it's friend which I may have swallowed.
Do they still grow a lot of oil seed rape over in east Yorkshire? That's where the thunder bugs came from. Furthermore, if your parents take you to Hornsea, it's because they hate you. Filey's only just up the road ffs.

'" TBH if you want sharp you have to go ceramic.
The nutters who make the sushi knives actually cut into their own thumbnails to check they are sharp enough
Plus ceramic doesn't get contaminated by food flavours.

I know what you're saying but a ceramic just never feels right to me, I just don't like the balance of them, admittedly I haven't tried that many.
I also like the fact that these are (sort of) Samurai swords. You can't put your dressing gown and flip flops (resplendent with little wooden blocks) on and then come crashing through the bamboo in the garden pretending to be Zatoichi with a ceramic can you? Can you? No.

| Meant to be making smoked haddock risotto, been supposed to be making it for the last hour and a half. Sat outside drinking Sauvignon, smoking fags and reading Jo Nesbo (got a very unhealthy addiction to this at the moment), going to get a right telling off soon.

| Quote pmh="pmh"That last definition is the best, absolutely insane.

Mild Rover has the right to herd his sheep over Dumbarton bridge, so less of your impudence please.
