| Quote: Gallanteer "Drinkwater is stealing a wage.
All our kicks apart from Lee's(!) were dire.
We look clueless playing the ball in their 10 but better at long range efforts.
Really missed Garbutt tonight.
We'll get nowt from the derby and Smith needs to conjur at least 4 wins from thesr last 10 matches.
I really fear Hudgell might walk this time if we go down again.'"
Drinkwater! He was ok. It's Atkin whose stealing a wage and has been all year. Dog awful. Gets away with murder. First chance to jump ship and he has after Rovers have him his big break.

| It's worth remembering that Mulhern was dropped for the derby, showing that Smith is willing to drop non-performing players.
It'll be interesting to see how long he gives Drinkwater....

I thought he did pretty well in this game. I’m Just about to re-watch with a cool head, so i’ll have closer look at him.
I don’t think he’s been that bad, although I must admit to getting very little value from my HKRTV subscription during Sheens’s last handful of games.

| Drinkwater took a while to find his feet but his pack was generally getting mullered. He like any HB needs a platform to play with time and space and even a mediocre half with nothing but a kicking game looks a star with time. Plenty more to come from Drinkwater given a decent pack well coached.

| I like Drinkwater and hope he stays on for next year. Not a dazzling player but fairly solid, doing a decent job imo. He's been doing little wrong and seems to be improving all the time.

There are people on here who take against a player and those who can see nothing wrong. Once their opinion has been formed nothing will change it. Their opinion will be re-emphasised every time they post.
Drinkwater has not bee the success I had hoped but he is improving and will be better behind a more dominant pack as demonstrated yesterday and the time he spent at Cats. I hope we offer him another year.

He has not been performing well at all but has shown occasional bits of averageness.
The big issue is that he will be on a high wage and takes an overseas quota spot that are a rare commodity. Is it a risk to use it and the wage just in case he might improve?

I wouldn’t say their bubble has burst just because of one game. They’ll come back stronger next week but they’ve a tough run in, that’s for sure.

You prove my point. He has not pulled up any trees I admit but to say he has only occasionally been average just highlights your prejudice.
You do not know what wage he is on.
He has played every match this season. Two coaches have consistently selected him. We have recruited recently for the run-in but significantly not a half back. His assists are the same number as the FC wonder /half back.
I can only assume the people at the club do not share your view.
Of course it does not make your view incorrect just different.

| The more player interviews I read or hear, the more you realise Sheens was outdated.
Recent examples this week -
Haraki saying they played too defensively earlier in the season - thats Sheens directing how they should play.
Masoe - playing for each other since Smith arrived - in ither words playing as a team - Sheens obviously didn't coach teamwork.
Yes we're not safe yet, but Smith has got them playing a lot more exciting rugby.
Just need to back it up tonight.
