You're probably right. It was an embarrassment to actually concede points against such opposition in truth.

I'm really surprised to see so many of your fans getting on Houghton's case. As a Rovers fan he's one player who makes me nervous when he's in possession and his passion and commitment is obvious.

I like Houghton, but I must admit our speed around the ruck (passing) and decision making is not the best. I think we have far bigger issues than Houghton though

| Danny Houghton is a good player and one of SL's most consistent and standout performers in recent years. He doesn't deserve criticism from FC fans especially now. There are others who are letting the side down right now. Pryce, Westerman, Talanoa, Rankin, Shaul, your back up props and your centres in any combination are all below par at the mo. Then there's the coaching staff who are short of ideas in their gameplan and can't motivate.

The poster formerly known as Wildmoose...cheers Karoo: |

| Early 2nd half Hull had a great chance down the short side about 15m out. We were outnumbered & we had at least one defender left on the floor when the ball was played. I was convinced a try was coming. Fortunately Houghton decided to set off in field instead. He does most things very well, I just don't think he's a 'smart' player.

Even that was a gift from the officials. I'd have been very upset if it had been given against us. Never a try. Nil would have flattered us.

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?: |

Thought Shaul looked a great prospect when he burst onto the scene. Looks complete Shatpank now.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Different eyes, different views.
I thought Shaul looked their most dangerous player, particularly in broken field, the kid's got pace to burn.
On Houghton, he doesn't really seem to have become the player he should have/could have been. I still think he's a threat, but three or four years ago he looked like he could be top drawer but he seems to have stagnated, can't see it happening but I think he needs a change of club. Not to us though. He hasn't got any hair, therefore, rubbish.

We have a recent tradition of god-like baldies though. Vella, Weyman and now TC. We only have room for 1 at a time though.

Then there were the 3 gilt edged try opportunities we bombed by 3 of our "smart" players, Kelly, Lunt and Goulding. Danny Houghton doesn't have exclusivity on dumb play options in SL.

We have just created space within the slaphead cap for Tilse, who looks a bit follically challenged to me. We also have room for another ginger now that Carlile has gone, so Goose will be ecstatic.

And there, Sandra, you have summarised one of our main underlying problems. It's not just Houghton.

Even if he had hair it wouldn't be ginger, which would also have to go against him.

I'm off the gingers, I belatedly realised they are evil and should be put to the ducking stool test.
We have a severe lack of good hair players though, can't think of one and McCarthy's beard annoys me to my marrow.
I haven't seen any good hair prospects in the nineteens.
We're potentially on our knees.

Ha ha, Priceless!
Why doesn't the water carrier sneak up to McCarthy with a hidden pair of scissors and give his beard a quick snip when he's taking a glug?
Mind you Charnleys hairstyle catalogue leaves a bit to be desired and Joe Philbins barnet at Warrington is tailor made to add a parrot to complete the look.
