| 1 year deal, had a year left on his contract in Aus - I don't see how this can be a bad signing, if he wanted to sit in the stands he'd have done so in Aus whilst earning his final years salary. He obviously wants to continue playing and hopefully will play out of his skin. He'll move on after a year, we can't afford him.

They spend their lives tearing their own players to pieces, but if anyone else says one word about their boys, especially a club legend like Campo, they'll back him to the death.

There's no fruit at Rovers. Just a few cabbages with Australian accents.'"
It would appear the 2014 Under 19's table shows HKR academy at this level finished on exactly the same number of points as HFC's youth, and IIRC HKR under 16 academy only lost one game all season so I assume the fruit tree appears as fruitless at the KC.
Be interested to know whether HKR (or indeed any S.L. club) have broken any rules regards signings of overseas players?

| Anyway, back to Campese. I hope he continues his foundation work whilst over in the UK. He seems like a good bloke (for a convict).

| Quote: Mild Rover "The 16 games you got from Dykes in 2008 would be a fair return, just about. Hopefully with Kelly in the squad we'll be less reliant on TC than you were on AD.
Reading the Canberra forum, and if we're looking for a Hull FC equivalent, as we inevitably must, I was minded more of some Hull fans' attitude to Richard Horne over the last few years - with less diplomatic language, admittedly.
Stan mentions that it increases the risk of us carrying an injured half. On the flipside, it reduces the risk of that being hugely damaging to our chances.
It has positive knock-ons too - Blair becomes more of an option in the centres, in turn meaning that Horne should focus completely on being a second-row.
Boudebza for Hodgson is (prospectively) a major trade-down in an important position, but it's hard to maintain standards across the board in this market. Hull haven't really directly replaced Heremaia (Cunningham is still promising rather than proven, I think it is fair to say) and it's hard to find any quality of depth at the moment, particularly at hooker it seems.'"
When Dykes played he went well for Hull. It was he that took us to Wembley in 2008. I think Peter Sharps departure didn't help Dykes who, IMO was rushed back a couple of times and hastened the end of his time.
The comparisons are there between Campese and Dykes. Looking for a new challenge, injury record not good, hoping to take the place of a HB which was the heat beat of the team (Dobson was not really replaced by Keating as Matt Head was not the replacement for Paul Cooke).
Regarding your comment Re Heremaia, Id expect to see Jordon Rankin used as a 9 interchange next season at some point.

its a shame none of them will manage to break through due to being behind overseas players, then being lost to RL due to being disillusioned with the game.
notice hull kr didnt have a player in the England academy game yesterday, Hull FC had 3, Huddersfield had 2.

We have more hull born players in our squad than you have Huddersfield born players in yours but who cares

Only 2 more than HKA? That's a poor return, your club should be ashamed apparently.

Absolutely laughable comparison, the Hull FC u19's last year was full of 17 year olds.

| Having tried to drag this thread back on topic this morning, I appear to have failed.
Shall we re-title it "Hull attract all the best kids" and then at least we can crack a few Savile jokes.
