If the present incumbent is here after 10 years they will be announcing the crowd to the players at 2.45 pm on a Sunday.

| Ok Stan what makes you think bringing someone else in will change anything for the better to me it will be another coach who needs time to settle in two seasons to get his own team blah blah blah before you know its 2017 and were still struggling to get to 8th

Look at the squad. Look at it and honestly tell me that the current coach is getting the best out of it. The board backed him to the hilt this season and he's let them, and us down.
If we keep Sandercock until 2017 we will be back in the Championship looking forward to a "derby" against Donny as a season highlight.

He actually makes some good points, especially regarding stability.
I recognise that Sandercock hasn't achieved the success that many would have liked up to now, including me.
As fans we want the club to realize both its own and our dreams of achieving success on the field, however quite often we want instant gratification without putting in the long term building blocks first,( a little like Salford are attempting at the moment imo).
Significant achievements require significant effort and time to be realized, that is what the club is working towards at the moment imo.
Some people on this forum, wanting to sack or at least change the coaches every couple of years if they don't come up to their personal expectations maybe understandable but not the right thing to do imo, where would Manchester Utd have been if they had sacked Alex Ferguson after his first couple of years in charge when the clubs achievements did not match up to their fans high expectations,? the club finished around mid table during those first two years and only in year three of Alex Ferguson's reign, did the famous club begin what was the beginning of their long successful period, plus its also worth mentioning that he was already a highly rated coach by the time he took over at Man Utd after a successful spell at Aberdeen during the early eighties, during which time he also was part of the coaching staff for the Scottish national side.
Another thing to bear in mind is ... the players opinion of the coach, in Sandecocks case they ( the players) have great respect for him which goes a long way when trying to build a stable and successful side.
At the moment things could be better and its frustrating been a Rovers fan at times, but if the club took the advice of some fans on this forum, we wouldn't have a team to coach.
As a long standing supporter of Rovers (46 years) and been fortunate to see the very good but also the not so good during those years, i want to see the success of the late seventies/ early eighties replicated in the not to distant future, what i don't want to see is,.....us abandoning our long term goals in favor of the quick fix solution.
Sometimes it takes a while to reach our dreams and the things that bring long term satisfaction.

In the mean time we go to hell in a hand cart but that's ok because at least we won't have to risk someone else.
Geez.

We are NO better now then we were 2 1/2 years ago.
It's no wonder the players like him if as has been proved they can do whatever they bloody well like (We have a good squad but are playing miles BELOW how we should be as proof).
Look at Castleford as an example of a coach squeezing every ounce he can out of his squad. No amount of time will change the fact that Sandercock cannot manage that.

sorry I must have missed all the grand final wins under saint Justin who had a better squad what I remember is scraping into the play offs against cas reserves and then getting a 50 point tonking in the first round

Daryl Powell is undoubtedly a very good coach with a fair bit of coaching experience, certainly more than Sandercock, he was also a very good player.
If i remember correctly he coached at Leeds in the early millennia for two or three years but was succeeded by Tony Smith after disappointing results .
So, although he is a good coach, he hasn't always had the success he is having now, it has been work in progress (most of it been in a lower league) since he first came into coaching around 13 years or 14 ago .
My argument still stands, although i'm not saying keep Sandercock on indefinitely by any means, i am saying, it can take longer than 2 1/2 years for a coach to get where he wants to be, in any sport at ameature level or professional.

| I'm all for stability and continuity but would you continue throwing your money away on a horse who couldn't run to save it's life just because you think one day it might win? You've got to be sure you're backing the right man and IMO neither owner of the Hull clubs currently is

Well who's fault is that seeing as the spend has to be EXACTLY the same?
Oh and BTW JM managed 4th place after being the guy taking us up and building us into a SL club with that said if you want to make the complete comparison apart from in our first SL season (When JM did the great job of keeping us up) we never finished lower than 7th. Yet under Sandercock who has been handed a SL club we haven't managed to finish higher than 8th.
Still if you want to pretend it isn't the fault of CS go right ahead. I'll not be burying my head and pretending the same though.

A coach is handed a team that finished 7th at lowest and takes them to 10th,8th and highly probable 9th or worse (Let's be honest with ourselves) and you want him to get an extension?

Spot on and at least he inspired the odd great performance and a cc semi final. Not one of sandercocks stats have matched Morgans or look like doing so. Stability is good as long as an improvement is in sight unfortunately we look like getting worse.
