| Quote: Mrs Barista "The point is very simple. 2 titles up for grabs each season, maybe 3 if you count the hubcap. You've got two types of team therefore, title-holders and others. The second group will all say they're in a transitional phase and building for the future. They're not going to admit they're stuck in pointless mid table mediocrity or simply trying to avoid losing their franchise forever, are they? If they were once successful, like Bradford, they might put original spin on it and use "rebuilding", but we are where we are until there's any evidence to the contrary. There's not much evidence about, frankly. You may as well have put "we'll only get better". Silly.'"
No.
I'm a long game player.
You are clearly a person who knows nothing of following a team.
Rovers are in a position to become self sustainable within the top (if we check the records, this is something that Rovers have never really been) division. Our academy will hopefully be the bed rock.
Losing to one of the top teams in the competition on a Friday evening in May 2012 doesn't particularly effect that.
Good luck with arguing against the logic,

Let's see how many are left at the KFC at 8.30 tomorrow. K-nob.

| You are and always will be a steaming mass of pigs jizz.
I have been a pig farmer, luckily it was only a holiday job for a poor boy from the East Riding,
This means I never had to masturbate the pigs and therefore never had to witness them spill their seed in a Turin Shroud-esque vision of your face,

This is nothing to do with tonight.
Wigan, Leeds, Warrington are top dogs. Everyone else will predict they are building or rebuilding to that level. Every team has an academy and predict a bright future pipeline of talent. Catalans and Huddersfield are building, Saints rebuilding. I've followed FC for 25 years. We had a glimmer of hope in 1990/1, success in 2005. During that time we've had multiple owners, new eras, gone bust, been saved and had probably a dozen or more coaches and directors talking about how close success might be. In 2007 we beat Bradford to finish 4th with 11 homegrown players (when Bradford were still good). Meant little in the scheme of things, enjoyable as it was. We'd have said then we were building and in a transition to success. It wasn't true. We're saying it now, but so are every other club. If we all build at the same rate it's just status quo, with both Hull clubs at sub break even attendance.

| And?
What's your point?
My point, and the one I was illustrating to unrealistic Rovers fans is that we've been mainly rubbish for our entire existence. I am merely expressing a hope that we can have a more solid foundation.
What your club does is largely of no consequence to me but twice a year.

| Our one biggest problem, is fans think we're a lot better than we really are. When we get hammered against a top team, it's a shambles/disgrace and all that jazz. We need to accept the fact we are an average team, with average players.
Sandercock has his remit, improve things from the bottom upwards over a period of time.
If he's to achieve this, then Rovers' board need to offer the likes of Taylor a contract, that will match his importance to us over the next 5 years and beyond.

| i'm not inspired with confidence in sandchebs so far though, most press conferences sound defeatist at best and surely he can tell/coach his team to not give stupid penalties away

It's a simplistic view though. rovers were giving away penalties because they couldn't get near to matching wigan's intensity and the pace they were playing at. As soon as that intensity dropped, rovers got some ball and started to look better, however it was purely down to wigan dropping off. When we played wigan a couple of weeks ago they played like that for about 60 minutes. It was great to watch as a rugby fan but painful as a Hull one

| At least we didn't get dry bummed on our own muck, record defeat at KC in Superleague, wasn't it?
After McDonnell taking out Wigans 14th man, sign him on! Shocked at the VR decision, the ref stopped McDonnell being in position to stop the try, should have been wiped off for me.

So that's where he's been going wrong, he needs to [itell[/i the players not to give penalties away & to tackle correctly.
FFS.

True, but at least we didn't have a full strength team out.
Our team for that game was like you playing without:
webster
welham
green
dobson
withers
galea
o'hara
taylor
And playing chris chester on the bench
