| Quote: HKRKid "He'd been warned twice before and then did another grapple tackle, so IMO it was deserved. There were some other abysmal decisions in the game that went against us (Hicks in touch, Grix offload as a ball steal, Anderson knock on before king Try), but the game was still out of our reach. Until we become more flamboyant and versatile in attack I only expect victories over the weaker teams. Saying that, our defence was amazing for 70 minutes and it is certainly a performance to build the rest of the season on despite conceding 35 points.'"
on the other hand he didn't ping you for not being square at marker as far as i can recall, which is strange as he kept penalizing warrington for it.

| Didnt think KR would go and win at Wire, but, thought some of (that poor excuse for a referee,) Mr Smith's,decisions where at times baffling!!!, which never helped you at all, have to say though, Thought your defence in the 1st half, was excellent!
The only thing consistent with SL is all the refs are on par with each other (there all sh*te)!

| Quote: east hull FC fan "I'm sorry, I seem to be the only Hull fan that hasn't seen the game!
But from what I heard on radio wire scored 16 points while Newton was in the bin. Is that correct? Also the game was at 6-4 when this happened? If so it was a massive moment that changed the game.
Was it a deserved binning? I know from on here that he'd been warned but was the "actual" event worth a sin bin?'"
No, not in isolation. But then again it wasnt so much that he had been warned, it was that he had been warned (spoken to a number of times) and had been FINAL warned prior to the incident. The "ball-stripping" penalty was a lucky call for Wolves. The only thing I can see is that the ball was still in the Woves player hand (although yes he was going for an offload), there were players round his legs and another took the ball so technically yes, a penalty BUT at wont point is a player deemed to have disposed of the ball!!
As a Wolves fan I will hold my hand up and say that some decisions went in Wolves favour if someone at the other end of the M62 will hold theirs up that some didnt. (yeh, Briers maybe should have been sunbinned for interference, but given that the Hull Kr player dropped the ball, picked it back up and then played on........., the double move try that would never have been given if the score was still 6-4 or if it was in the first rather than last 10 minutes)

| Quote: Kosh "The 'ball strip' penalty was a bad decision, but IIRC Smith would have seen it from behind the Rovers player and would not have seen how the ball ended up in his hands. It most likely looked like a strip from his POV.
His treatment of Newton was poor I agree. It was clear that Newton was carrying a genuine injury and it's not up to the ref to decide otherwise. If he thought time was being wasted he should have started stopping the clock or asked for Newton to be treated off the pitch. Manhandling him was unprofessional to say the least.
I don't think that Smith is biased in the normal sense of the word, and AFAIK he has no connection to Wire that would lead him to favour them particularly. What he [iis[/i, without doubt, is one of the very worst officials in the game. I don't think there was any more to it than his usual utter incompetence.'"
Fair post to me.
What gets my goat is something Rover49 touched on in that its not what you get given its when and where.
The game could end with 10 penalties each but ours could be in our 20 and theirs could be contentious and in our 20. See the difference, we get to clear our lines but they get to attack on our line.

| Wire 2004 .
We wont mention
[*]the foot in touch
[*]the mysterious offload that smith said was a ball steal.
[*]Briars trying to get some one sin binned aka football.
[*]The whole Warrington team trying to make out that fisher's try was not a try.
[*]That man again should of gone to the sin bin for a professional foul.
[*]Let's put Netwon in the sin bin because I'm fed up of him sitting on the floor faking injury at a scrum.
Shocking.

How many times have i said that the wholw white line was visible on screen.
[*]That man again should of gone to the sin bin for a professional foul.
I have stated that i agree with that
[*]Let's put Netwon in the sin bin because I'm fed up of him sitting on the floor faking injury at a scrum.
he was binned for persistant offending.
I can't comment on the other incidents as i will have watch the replay again. depending if the missus hasn't taped over it.

If that was true I'd agree but if you watch on the replay Smith had gone behind the goal line to see if he got over the line and was in fact in the ideal position to give the call correctly which makes it more bizarre, add to that the linesman staring straight at Hick's foot in touch makes you wonder what the officials are actually looking at.
Wire fully deserved to win the match and had these decisions been called correctly they may have still won by a similar margin it's just galling when effort in defence is rewarded by being penalised.
The worst offence on the pitch was Lee 'Didier Drogba' Briers feigning a head shot and running to the ref calling for ten, that kind of behaviour has no place in the game.
