| The Daily Star? That bastion of all RL knowledge? Didn't I see someone on here saying that it was Cas Morgan was headed to according to the DS only a couple of weeks ago?
The way Morgan is currently coaching, no way will he get a job in Penrith, or any other Cumbrian club for that matter!

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Harsh. It's a theory, though. Would you say, for example, that Morgan's overt enthusiasm is undimmed this season? That he wasn't hacked off about Mason? That the standard of performance he is getting from the resources at his disposal is equal to what it was in 2009? OK then.
Possibly a symptom rather than an underlying cause though. Much easier to be ebullient in the press when you're doing well.
It is difficult to say the right thing when you're losing and generally off the pace. Too much optimism and you're in denial/a fantasist. Too negative and you're uninspiring. And there's the 'same old excuses' charge.
Nobody would ever complain about the repetition of positives on a winning streak. It could be 'defended well as a team', 'put them under pressure' and 'took our chances when they came', literally every week and nobody would moan.
Until you can start saying that, you're as well saying nowt.

Was more referring to his general demeanour tbh and specifically his mojo or lackthereof at present. He's normally very upbeat and IMO he's lost usual spark. I still believe that the Mason shambles has had a material impact on Rovers season and that Morgan's been unhappy about a signing that didn't fit his recruitment profile at all, has been administered very poorly and resulted in unwelcome disruption for a number of weeks. I certainly think Morgan has plenty more to offer RL, but I guess the question for him is whether, if there are other offers on the table, they would stretch his development more than another year or more at Hull KR.

His general demeanor is very similar to how it is when we've had slumps before, I don;t think theres a big difference only that this one is going on a lot longer than previoulsy.

| Although the timing was a bit strange I was not surprised to see Morgan linked with an NRL club and as its home I would imagine he would jump at the chance if offered.
Do anyone else think he will have to change the way he deals with the media ? NRL is a much bigger affair in Aus and I don't think the Aussie press will put up with surliness and refusal to talk to them.

Most definitely. Although, he's not on his own in this respect, and certainly can't "dummy spit" to international standards like McNamara managed on Sunday.

| As I said earlier every coach has a sticky season not matter how good they are, Justin has to accept responsiblitiy for this mess and he will have to accountable to the board. But there a few players which lack pride and passion in the shirt and one or two of them are taking the pee.
I would get rid of the following as I dont feel they can cut it anymore sadly one of them has been given a new 2yr contract: colborn, vella, Clinton, lovegrove, briscoe maybe murrell, i feel we are going backwards at mo and need a shake up: promote James green and Kristian bell to 1st team but nurture them. Try to get Jon Wilkin home and Dave hodgson,
I realise that some robins aren't going to be happy with what i am stating, But we cant sit back and say everythings wonderful when they aren't. If next season is the same as this season then Justin should be sacked.
PS well don to NSW whose just won the origin game

| Quote: Mrs Barista "This is not intended as trolling, but an observation. Morgan has done an outstanding job at Rovers. His use in particular of overseas players has been excellent and particularly in the early days his tactical insight to work over opposition teams was really impressive. He's made some hard calls to offload players with time left on their contracts. I think he's not seen eye to eye with the board on a few key issues, though, being the retention of Cooke after their first big fall-out, but more recently the Mason debacle. IMO Mason was a signing driven not by the coach but by the commercial department, and Morgan gives the impression he likes to be in absolute control of his squad. This season his overt energy and commitment seem a notch or two lower than in previous seasons. I think the two points are linked. To use a Peter Sharpism, he seems to have lost his mojo a bit.
If I were a Rovers fan, I'd be disappointed, but reasonably ambivalent about losing Morgan as he's probably ready for a new challenge, but would be more concerned about who, if anyone, could end up following him playerwise. Given that his only 2 signings so far are 2011's most cited scapegoats, Netherton and Hodgson, maybe he's going early on an Agent Morgan mission for Wigan/Cas/whoever he's linked with next.
Be as it may but Mason, board signing or not was a potential gamebreaker if used right and even if Morgan didnt have him on a hit list he surely wouldnt have turned him down.

I'm suggesting that Morgan may have chosen to invest Mason's salary elsewhere if given a free hand. You already had Newton, Galea, Murrell, Cook, Netherton and Watts as backrow options. Perhaps Morgan would have rather used that cash for a top class hooker, or tackle-busting prop.

Mason has an off load game, Morgan delights in coaching this out of people.
Quoted as saying "It's a big ask, but I'm sure I can improve this defect in Willie's game."
Reference; Liam Watts.

Watts was in the top three Super League Young Players of the Year last season with Sam Tomkins and Jonny Lomax. I apologise for jinxing him, nowt to do with Morgan:
