| It has been dismal. 3 points from the opening 9 games saw to that. We've 8 points from the last 9 though, so I think Webster deserves some credit (although the Oldham game fell in that period too).
Losing a lead, Campese failing to complete the 80 for the third time in the five games he's made the 17, slim hopes of the top 8 extinguished - not a great morning from a HKR POV.

| Quote: Jake the Peg "You will be fine in the middle 8's. At least 5 teams much worse than you in there and I'd expect you to win all of your home games and doubt you'll finish below 10th at the split so you'll have 4 home games anyway'"
So if we underperform by one place we're the 4th v 5th relegation game. I don't disagree, but I'm not reassured.

| In relation to our injuries/squad size and conditioning deficiencies, it would be interesting to see the stats on our injuries and see how many were conditioning related and how many were contact related. I think (apart from campo) the majority have been as a result of impact rather than pulls/tears. Also looking at our 'small pack' they are more than holding their own, and have grown in stature over the season. Last season we had massive holes in our pack and our backs kept us ticking, this season it's our backs that are struggling and that is hitting us harder. Dixon again showed us how much we are missing Mantellato, some of his play reading last night was woeful and back to making schoolboy errors. Despite the knock on fest from both sides, I feel his mistakes cost us the game. So overall this is the most frustrating season, at least in the last ten years.

| Quote: Gallanteer "It's easy to state this when your own team has been virtually injury free all season. It's not surprising where certain teams are this season based on injuries.
The few times we have fielded a nearly fit team we have either won or been exceptionally close (last night or the derby at our place).
The problem is that we'll never know. We can only look back and wonder 'what if' come the end of the season.
As I stated, a very frustrating season.'"
Hull have been lucky with injuries and you have had more than your fair share, but that doesn't change the fact that your squad needs some work.
You have a handful of real gems, but there's a lot of filler in the squad too. I dont profess to know what Campese earns, but I would be surprised if he isn't your top earner. I think you would be far better served letting him leave and spending his wages of suring up the pack, especially the back row.

I agree with all this.
Regarding the forwards, the only back rowers I would keep and rebuild around would be James Greenwood, who has kicked on well this season and is becoming a quality, consistent player in the 2nd row. Blair playing the first 60 minutes in the 2nd row again last night showed what we had been missing there this season until the last 2 games. Next year he will be 33 I think. Allgood is better at LF than prop. A keeper.
Add to these, Walker at prop and Lunt and Lawler as hookers and the rest can foxtrot oscar for me.
We also need a new FB, a replacement SO for Campo, and Dixon and Salter need binning. Simples.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I disagree, we caught some poor calls off Thaler last night, notably in the two occasion he fell for Charnley wanging the ball away in the tackle and giving a penalty, but for me there were a number of reasons that we lost the game due to our own ineptitude.
1. Campese goes off, all game management goes out the window although we manage to score again and go ten points up. And this is the main reason, lack of leadership.
2. At 18-12 we had two perfect positions to go for the drop goal, one of them Kelly put in a horrible kick to Sio when he was positioned right in the pocket, the other, (which was even better) Walker gave a ludicrous forward pass to Tilse which resulted in Tierney's break leading to Gelling's try.
3. I reckon we put the ball down, or lost or just generally ballsed it up at least eleven times. That's sixty six. Count them. Sixty six extra tackles to defend, you don't win games by disrespecting possession to that degree.
Disclaimer; I got a new tablet today and it has some sort of weird predictive text shizzle on it that I haven't worked out yet so if there are, and there will be strange spellings in this and subsequent posts, that's why. Just a nod to the Grammar Nazis out there.

What are you on about?
At no point were we 18-12 up, apart from when Matty Smith was lining up a conversion to make it 18-14. No point in anyone taking a dg with a 4 point lead.

| 18-8, or whatever it ruddy was.
I might having a number issue as well, I walked away thinking we'd drawn for some sodding reason, then I had a puncture and had to put on the space saver wheel thing, obviously being such a massive fanny I didn't know how to do that on new car so had to watch a few YouTube videos first and then I had to drive back to Secret Lair v.2 at fiftyingmilesanhour so I didn't get in until one in the morning meaning I had to stop in Milnsbridge (which is rubbish) for a Full Turkish which turned out to be incredibly disappointing leading to me not going to bed until four and then stupidly going to the Honley show today which was absolutely not worth ten pounds of your finest English to get in and this tablet thing already has a life of it's own and does what it flecking likes so I'm not in't best of moods.
Is that okay with you two?
Just checking.

This is real weird sh*t Goose. You need to compose an opera around it.
New car, new tablet, new 'hood, new(ish) * woman. All you need to do is a buy a season ticket to watch the Giants for 2017 in the Championship and you've got a proverbial five carder. Bob on, eh?

| Woman is not so new, but very difficult to learn, flecking changing a to booty (am I that Beyonce woman? No, am aarsing not) is an abomination.
I am a cross man, regular viewers should be warned, tomorrow I have to play said women's brother at badminton tomorrow.
I am sheeitemailing (I'm trying to say very awful, but obviously this device already hates me and requires a Frisbee throw into the Huddersfield Narrow Canal) at badminton and he used to play for Yorkshire.
I hate life.

| The Hull Daily Mail is accurate with its reporting about us on about 1 in 3 occasions, the same as our win to loss ratio in recent regular season play. The rest of the time it uses waffley soundbites to create nonsense news stories for the sake of it.
On the basis of this morning's HDM article saying that Campese, Kelly and Boudebza will miss the St Helens trip, due to injuries sustained against Wigan, it is likely that all 3 could play against Saints, 1 or 2 of them could play or none could play based on HDM historical accuracy.
The season injury curse continues. Hope the academy lad, Liam, plays if Albo can't.
