I can't see them being bottom 4 this year and Ellis is a great signing for them but is it at all possible for that subject to be kept on the backburner what with me having to cut more than one troll off at the knee over it.

| We have to look to our kids, we need to cut the salary cap we pay until we are self sustaining, if it means mid table for a few years, so be it.
Being one who was used to travelling to Barrow, Workington etc to see us humiliated, mid table SL is a reasonable price to pay to get us on the right track financially.

Unfortunately it becomes a vicious circle, a lot of people won't want to watch an under performing team & it certainly won't encourage many new fans, although that might not be seen as a bad thing according to some of the original few.

My sentiments also, if some people are happy with mid table mediocrity then fair enough, as long as they realise that it would probably knock a couple of thousand off the gate, which in turn would mean even less finance for future expansion, plus would any young prospects realy want to play for a constant mid table club with limmited ambition.?

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Paea x2 next season. Byebye clinton.
Webster byebye. Replaced with a good player but who? Is quota reduced again next season? Hes surely on a fair whack so could be anyone at all that comes.
Really hope Galea is here next season but with reduced subs will he be able to play for long stints?

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| There's going to be little out there, so starting with retention. I wanted to do a 4 dimensional matrix for position, ability, attitude and quotas status but RLfans and normal Euclidean space are rubbish.
So club-trained qualified (because protectionism is the path to greater competivity, no really):
For the sake of squad depth, we need to keep at least 2 of these, IMO.
Murrell - the best cover we have or are likely to get for Green and Dobson and offers an option at 13. Enthusiastic, versatile... slow, but nobody is perfect. You know exactly what you're getting with him. I'd be happy to see him given 3 years which'd get him his testimonial, I think.
Watts - In the ETS last year, loads of ability. On the other hand, when Willie Mason calls someone a larrikin it makes you nervous. Hope and fear in equal measure, for me. Probably got to gamble - the staff who work with him will know how far. Probably the biggest and hardest call.
Lovegrove - Versatile, coming into his prime, started the season well. Keep.
Fed-trained -
Hall - I think we could do with another back in the squad, so certainly wouldn't be looking to lose a talented, if slightly flaky, fed-trained one. Unless a couple of young players kick on to a surprising extent, I'd be surprised if we didn't try to extend his deal.
Wheeldon - Under-rated IMO. But we do have a hypersufficiency of props, and he's ooc. Because Hull look to be short of props and (maybe) experienced club-trained players for 2013, he'd be a decent signing for them. If they look elsewhere (perhaps at Watts), and/or Clinton leaves and isn't replaced like-for-like, then he could stay. Otherwise, probably not, unless he finds another gear.
I'll do the non-fed and quota later.

| I wouldn't be surprised to see hull go for wattsy following pearson's latest rallying call, they are targeting young established players from other clubs for next season now apparently and wattsy's old drinking partner westerman is there.
I'd like to see james green being given a long deal, I reckon with the right coaching he could well be the next taylor or cox to come through to being a first team regular

| In terms of the quota, not much to be gained by Webster and Galea going, whereas McDonnell and Clinton departing would free up non-fed spots. Galea being injured is unfortunate for him, but at least it is obvious that we miss him. As with the rest, wait and see to an extent - but if we're looking to bring new players in, something has to give.

C'mon über mod, your post is scruffy and was a perfect time to adopt DD's favourite list format(s).
I've gone with the tried and tested bulleted format
[list
From the list of ooc players you provided.
[* McDonnell - He's improving, but a 1yr deal, suggests we're open to other options next season[/*
[* Hall - new deal, no brainer[/*
[* Webster, in terms of the quota – you’re right, we may as well offer him a new deal – reduced terms, if he’s on particularly high wage. [/*
[* Wheeldon - I’d like to see us keep him, he’s often been on the fringes and apparently surplus for a while. He’s chose to stay here, I like that loyalty. He doesn’t let us down.[/*
[* Clinton – Suppose it depends on if he wants to stay or not, but you’d imagine he’s returning home. So [/*
[* Watts – hasn’t been on top form, but he’s young and obviously highly rated. Keep if possible[/*
[* Murrell – unless we could find another larker who fits in like he does, then it’s another no brainer, keep.[/*
[* Lovegrove – keep. [/*
[* Galea – If he’s got another season in him then, keep. If not then let’s put a nice contract Manu’s way.
