| Quote: barham red "Radford at loose infront of fitzgibbon? Tickle in place of lauiki, Manu or O'Meley?'"
Manu will likely be played from the bench.
If we don't sign Moa then Radford will probably start in the second row with Tickle.
Although trying to predict Agar's selections is probably futile.

| Quote: barham red "How FC can claim they are a conveyor belt of young players is beyond me, correct me if i'm wrong but wont they be have a full quota of o/seas or non fed players next year including a starting pack that wont contain any uk born players.
They may produce young players but how many go on to produce there potential in a Hull shirt the majority of these players seem to have to leave to give their careers a kick start.
The Briscoes and Houghton may be ones to come through (and for england purposes I hope they do) but if the past is anything to go by hey'll just and up vilified by there own crowd and shipped off like the Tommy Lees and Graham Hornes of this world.'"
Onl the flip side of that, name me a back in our squad next year that isn't a UK born player.

Lauiki, Moa, O'Meley and Fitzgibbon. Your forgetting you have Agar as a coach.

Whichever way you dress it up, there is a well establish word which best describes such activity within many walks of life.
PARASITE - An animal or plant that lives on or in another animal or plant of a different type and feeds from it.'"
Whilst not a be all-end all just looking where our academy and reserve teams finished in relation to Hull's and we can't be doing to badly....just need to wait and see how many more Scott Taylor's make the first team.
Given HKR have only had the last three seasons to compete on level terms i don't think things are working out so badly.

| I have to laugh at the Hull fans knocking our academy and reserves and also that we aren't bring our own players through.
Both our reserves and academy sides finished above Hull. Remind me how long we've being in SL and more importantly how long have we had these sides in place We have now signed Hull FC's Reserve team player of the year. A player that Hull didn't actually want to leave. The fact that on the day Hodgson coming to Hull KR was announced Agar didn't have a clue he was leaving and was fuming. He even got Josh to explain to himself and the Hull FC players on the training field why he has decided to leave. I think the reply was something along the lines of "I can't afford to be continouly strung around by Hull anymore" We've now backed that up with Leeds reserve player of the year. Now whatever the Hull fans say is full of bitterness. Where looking to a youthful side with alot of cracking young English talent and to me i have to say thankyou to Rovers as this is the future.

and also above Leeds, but you chose one of their youngsters ahead of your home grown talent pool for a place in the first team squad.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| I must say from my point of view which academy or reserves team finished higher isnt the ultimate goal at all.
The whole idea of the lower grades is to provide future super league players surely?
Therefore you could sign the best u17 team in the area but not their star player. Hence you will have the better 'team' but not the star player.
We all know few players actually make the grade so it could be argued that signing good players is all well for the academy results but signing very good players you stand more chance or producing the next super league star.

| Quote: His Bobness "No it would not make Chev Walker a free agent.
He would only be a free agent if Rovers paid him off and terminated his contract.
Before the start of the season clubs must send a list of 25 players who will be registered and therefore available for first team selection.
Chev Walker will undoubtedly NOT be on that list assuming he is going to miss large part of the season.
The salary cap is only for the 25 players submitted to the RFL so Rovers could continue to pay Chev Walker and he wouldn't count for salary cap purposes.
If Chev is fit to play at some point next season Rovers could then de-register another player to allow Chev to play. Chev's wages would then be part of the cap again but not the money he earned whist unregistered.'"
Comment to Clause 6.1.2It is not enough to trigger this Clause if a Club terminates a contract
with a Player simply because the Player has a serious injury that will take a long time
to heal properly (eg a broken leg or knee reconstruction).
6.1.4 Where the proposed transaction is a termination of a Playing Contract in
accordance with Clause 6.1.2, but in circumstances where such termination
takes place prior to the first Salary Cap Relevant Match of the relevant Salary
Cap Year, provided such termination is approved by the RSCM, the Player’s
original Salary Cap Value shall thereafter be disregarded for purposes of
calculating the Club’s Aggregate First Tier and/or Aggregate Second Tier
Liability.

| Think he'll do well for you, the reason Leeds didn't keep him is I assume because we rate Watkins as a better long term prospect. Though ATM Ratu looks a more natural centre than young Kallum

The best player at 16 years of age isnt necessarily going to be the best player at 21 though is he? History i littered with teenage prodigys who dont make the grade. Lets hope Louis Sherriffe isnt one of them...
