Quote: Anakin Skywalker "Really?
TBH I haven't had my TV off channel 4 since the para's started.'"

That's how it was on the breakfast show this morning, just stills of the velodrome and the aquatics centre.

It would probably be a logistical nightmare but I really think it's time we did away with the Paralympics as a separate event and just had the tThe Olympic and Paralympic Games.

These people are World class atheletes in their own right.

Ms. Terrorist and I will have been together nineteen years in November. Doesn't feel lake that to me, I expect it feels a lot longer for her.

I agree and this has been discussed although there are worries that all that would happen is that the para's would get about 5 events instead of the 11 days of events they get now.
Infact thinking about it the olympics get 17 days and the paraolympics get 11 days so add them together and you get 28 days which is about a month which is a nice idea and the football major event (World cup) is on for a month give or take (I mention it as that is the only other worldwide comp anywhere near as large) .

I think I may have unwittingly joined The Masons last weekend in Amsterdam.

I've just got a pair of jeans out which I haven't worn since then and just one leg was rolled up quite high.

I can think of no other logical explanation.

Still, on a gay stag weekend I suppose there was the potential for a lot worse to happen.

It's probably more to do with the logistics side of things. The football World Cup has a tiny proportion of athletes in comparison.

Double(ish) the number of competitors and support teams/coaches in and around the athletes village and the city would be a nightmare. All the athletes need somewhere within the UK to train (China are in Leeds for instance), and we don't have the facilities to accomodate so many athletes at once.

It'd also dilute the attention the Paralympics gets IMO, races sandwiched in between Olympic events would get no where near the attention they're getting now.

Keep it as it is for me, keep it separate.

A good friend of mine is doing a sterling job presenting on Channel 4. A complete television novice before this. eusa_clap.gif .

My lad trod on Graeme Hornes foot earlier. Nothing untoward there you may think. One had rugby boots on and one had flip flops...

There's definately something in it, but it'd be pretty difficult to implement.

Oh I agree.
I had thought of how large the olympic village would need to be before you mentioned it but the other things hadn't occurred to me.

Don't chuck them out, just separate/quarantine them.

Seing as we all seemed to decide that the off season started at around twenty to five (farve) on Sunday I thought it was about time we broadened the discussion.

Who knows where it might lead? Remember that time that Wharfey (my favourite) told us she could tell the difference during the act of coitus that she could tell the difference between cut and uncut todgers? Good times.

We should keep it to here because the last time I started loads of threads Ramekin bit my balls off, this wasn't as bad as it might first appear, I can now work in harem's, but I do unfortunately have a voice like Joe Pasquale, but with better jokes, obviously.

Anyway, I digress.

In these times of austerity I've been economisingby listening to old long players (cassette tapes for the younger amongst us, wax cylinders for rover49) t'other day I had a listen the seminal album "Leftism" by popular beat combo Leftfield. Still got it that record, must be nearly twenty years old, I was 'avin' it back in't day around then.

What ways are you saving the pennies? I've also down graded from vintage Pol Roger to American cream soda.

Another thing. Rules of life. Let's devise some.

I'll start us off. Cars are boring now a days, in the old days they were much more exciting and likely to kill you, this frisson of danger aded excitement. Old cars were likely to just burst into flames or just suddenly emit huge swathes of acrid smoke, (or traction engines for rover49) so, the first rule is.

Never drive a car without it having at least two warning lights that you don't know the meaning of on.
