No one ever says to a good troll "You're ace", yet you quite often see comments like this, telling people you did actually respect their work at one time. Be more generous and recognise your fellow posters' attributes in the present tense. You're Edit-AS.

No, You're being daft. More likely his agent knows what other players are on. Perhaps he (Taylor) knows what Hull are paying Watts.

| Quote: Anakin Skywalker "If you think that is a tirade then I worry as it isn't.
You accused me of being anti-agent something I am not (Not that I expect you to admit it) as they are needed to stop players getting screwed over.
But having so many players on the books of one man is bound to cause a conflict of interest at some point.
Infact the HDM even hint towards that very issue 'Relations between KR and the player's agent, David Howes, have been strained for some time, following a dispute over a previous player deal earlier in the season.'
Now what does a previous player have to do with Scott Taylor unless his agent is getting shirty over it and is playing silly games?
Have we done it the past?
Yes.
Did I say how uncomfy I was that a fair few of our squad and our coach shared the same agent in previous seasons.
Yes.
Sorry if you think that I am wearing red and white specs but I'm not.
Agents are middle men but having a large client list WILL lead to a larger chance of a conflict of interest IMHO.'"
One-eyed claptrap. All of it.

| What's a claptrap? I googled it but the results were blocked for 18 rated content.

| Great shame if we can't keep hold of Taylor, he could be the cornerstone of our pack for years to come, offer him a 5 year contract on as much as it would take (obviously taking into account squad and cap), if he doesn't want to stay so be it, we can't force him to stay, but it's not every year a player with the potential of Scott comes along, same goes for Josh Hodgson, if we can't keep hold of players of their calibre then it will set a precedence for others and we'll end up the new Castleford (no offense) i.e. developing young players then not being able to offer the same money as others to keep them.
Go with a smaller squad next season if we need to keep the cap spend down (losing Clinton, Galea, Webster should help too) after giving these two what they want to stay and if we get short because of injuries bring in the U20's for experience, Green, Cox and Peterson are almost there and Salter, Heil and Dave Scott and probably one or two more are on their heels. We've got to give these lads a chance at some point.
Catch 22 if we lose good local lads and don't stay competitive the crowds will dwindle and less revenue means lower contracts for players and in turn even less chance of keeping good youngsters.

| So why not give Taylor Clintons money? I'd guess he's on close to, or just over, ÂŁ100k.
Surely a future England regular is worth that?

Exactly! Must be worth offering Taylor somewhere near Clintons money for a long contract, even though he's yet to establish himself as an England regular (plus Clinton was reportedly our highest paid player, how true I don't know) and his progress might level off rather than continue as it has in the last 2 years. Though obviously we're trying to spend less on the cap to offset losses while crowds are below break even, but we could still do that with a smaller squad and a few larger contracts not being extended.

| I'd be very disappointed if we lost Taylor. But it happens. Bradford lost Sam Burgess to the NRL, Joel Tomkins and Kyle Eastmond left Wigan and Saints to go to RU. We ourselves have taken plenty of players from Hull, not least Josh Hodgson our other young player on the fringes of the England squad.
Taylor going would be painful, because he is one of our first since getting into SL and the worry is that even with a good pipeline you can end up like Cas with little tangible sporting benefit for it.

| It would be a shame but not the end of the world, players come and go!
I believe Scott will be good enough for the NRL one day so whoever he signs for won’t be able to hold onto him for too long either!!!
Good luck to him, he should make the most of his talent whilst he still has it, it is a very short career.
