He said nothing would be done without the fans consent, he also said that if there was no progress especially off the field he might walk away. Sound like he is frustrated by the delay in the funding. he also said he is totally confident that the problems will be overcome and the club will progress both off and on the field.

Quote: Mild Rover "Oooh, the plot thickens. Any chance of a broadbrush summary Kosh?'"

Gollum asked him about The Sun story and Hudge wouldn't rule it out. He said there'd been a further delay on the building work and without that work being done CP was not economically viable for a club wanting to progress. Said a couple of times that at some point it might have to be accepted that it would never happen at CP and that moving elsewhere had to be considered.

Apparently there should be a statement next week on the latest state of play regards funding for the North Stand. Doesn't sound like it'll be good news.

He did say that the fans would ultimately have the say on any move, but he also said that he might well walk away from the club if he felt it lacked ambition.

Quote: Mild Rover "If the North Stand has fallen through - which'd be shocking enough in itself - what other options does he have? Nobody can be expected to keep tipping in their cash forever. So he has to play chicken - in the first instance with the council and if that fails with a section of the fanbase. I'd hope they'd see it through to the end of the season, so a transition can be managed, if he loses twice - but beyond that nobody can say he didn't try his utmost and if people choose not to back him they have to face up to the (probably unpalatable) alternative.

Someone will blink, I reckon.'"

Does anyone know what's changed since this, though?

Council funding rubber-stamped. Just awaiting ERDF funding. Why is he bad-mouthing the council all of a sudden when, without them, there'd be absolutely no chance of ground developments at all?

How can the club lack ambition if he doesn't and he owns it?

Why not do the east stand extension, up cash flow, hire some temp seating to get people in at the Rotterdam end and then look to fund the North......

Think it was a veiled reference to any fans who might object to a move to the KC.

Quote: Jake the Peg "I don't believe the council have any options on this and I doubt the ERDF funders give a flying ferk about some foot stamping from an east hull ambulance chaser. The funding bodies have pulled the plug on live projects costing 1000's of jobs so doubt they'll care about backing out of a deal which primarily benefits the owners of a small sporting club on the east coast'"

Tbf, the cost would be greater than that - if the whole scheme has gone that affects the wider community, not just or even necessarily primarily Rovers.

But it's Rovers we're concerned with on this board. Assuming this isn't just yet another delay, then the council has two politically acceptable options, IMO...
1. Find some cash.
2. If they can't or won't they can knock the ball back over the net by offering us the KC. Might need to buy off Pearson and Allam though, so option 1 might even be cheaper. It could be done in the hope that the fans would revolt at the prospect, I guess.

The plot thins. Shot across the bows rather than imminent move, sounds like to me.

Because it'd make very little difference to the economic viability of the club. It's about the type and quality (ie revenue generation) of facilities, not just the capacity figure.

Nor, indeed, any possibility of a move to the stadium?

As the Hull and City tenancy agreements are with the Council and the SMC is in place to manage the stadium and administer those agreed tenancies, I would guess that a further tenancy agreement for Rovers would be with the council and not the SMC.

I believe the SMC manage the day to day running of the stadium and one-off events, but would not have to power to bring in a third tenant without the permission and agreement of the owners, the council.

The Sun, via Nosey, obviously believe City (i.e., Allam) own the stadium so see an approach to Allam as indicative of the deal being a fait accompli. In reality, it probably counts for not very much at all.

There is no benefit to the community. the business centre is contrived to get the funding of rovers stand. As has been said, there can be fewer worse places in east hull for a business centre than the end of preston road. other than a few retail outlets there is no business there.

The council can't spend the money even if they had it. It's not possible, and even if it were do you think it would be a wise political move so soon after they made 1000's redundant?

Article in the HDM confirms it's just about timing and the delay in ERDF funding. If the application is in, the council will be hard-pressed to make the wheels turn any faster on that one so perhaps Hudgell's trying to persuade the council to release the money early on the strength of assurances from ERDF that the money will be forthcoming?

The council say a move to the KC is nonsense.

Maybe - although Gollum did specifically ask if it was brinkmanship and Hudge denied it.
