When he did finally speak to Toulon it was after months of manipulative rule-bending (during which Rovers' mismanagement ensured he became involuntarily complicit) which started and ended with him being unable to play the game. whilst most people will agree with the comment ref the club messing up the deal and going round the houses to fit mason in.
by mason doing what he did whilst still under contract he had absolutly no intention of staying ,
no one is saying mason is to blame for the full episode but hes hardly blameless.
yes he jumped through hoops did what was asked off him etc etc ,
but he was still been paid by rovers ,the last thing rovers wanted was for mason to be sat on the side lines not playing and been paid ,
the passport issue is of our own doing and was a massive risk whcih didnt come off,bottom line is we got assurances from external forces stating mason passport would be here "any day" .
he knew the situation and choose to look else were ,his greed came shining through as did our massive gamble.

IMO lessons learned on both partys
HKR will not take the risk with out relevent paper work
