| Just as an aside to the Hall thing, the bit about signings at the bottam of the article in the mail quotes the Mason signing and that Green is subject to visa, does this mean Mason has his already?

It looks like he is making excuses TBH, loads of times he went for the wrong option or just missed his man like he did on welham in the derby at CP.
From what I saw last season Hull's defence was better than Rovers.

Hull may have let in marginally less points but this could be masked a little by the two drubbings Saints dished out on Rovers. That said they scored more points than Hull and finished the regular season with a + points difference. Hull didn't.
Taking both defence and attack into consideration i'd have Hally in my team everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday. ALL centres get caught out but Craigs errors were magnified by a bitter set of fans who blow them out of all proportion looking to apportion blame for thier teams failings.
He needed a coach who belived in him and a team structure that suits his attacking style of play. Seems he has both now.

I know you are Craig's biggest fan (and maybe even his dad), but the last paragraph is rubbish, some fans I agree do blame him for everything, I quite like him, when he came onto the scene he looked like the real deal and old type centre with great feet, pace and good hands, unfortunateley in 3 seasons and over 70 games he just hasn't done it, far too mnay errors in attack and defence.
I still stand by the point that Hull's defence was better than Rovers last year (hull took some good beating also, Wigan x2 and Leeds), Rovers attack is far better than Hull's, nobofy cab argue with that and maybe Hall will flourish in a more attacking team. I hope when you play us next season you have Welham and Hall in the centres.

You assume all Hall's errors are in defence, he makes more with ball in hand tbh. The amount of times he just switches off and drops an easy ball and throws a silly pass or takes the wrong option is numerous.
What Hall needs to do is to start taking some responsibility and start delivering, he might do that at Rover and he might not.

Two seasons ago I would have paid him to leave, but he has really improved in his defence work and puts in some massive hits when defending his line. He isn't as quick as Hall, but I think his brain is quicker and he reads the game around our kick attack moves very well. You may relish Hall being our centre, but Welhams defence is now very good, which is maybe what Morgan is aiming to do with Hall, if he can get him defending like Welham does, he will be an asset to us with his pace and attacking skills.
I am still to be convinced about Hall, but he is here now and I am confident he will be receiving a far higher standard of coaching and conditioning at Rovers, so if he cannot do it here, he won't do it anywhere.

Agreed. But how many times in those 70+ games has he played in his best position?? He is a left sided player and his best position is left centre yet he has very rarely played there. Yeaman is often all at sea in defensively and this despite having played in the same position for over 6 years, yet receives little of no criticism for it. How different would his career have been had he been asked to play in 3 or 4 different positions at a crucial time in his development??
Also i would like to see Rovers have Welham and Hall in the centres when they play Hull. Both pplayers have pace and both know how to put their wingers away.

Yeah, just like all the other players who have crossed the river and become world class under Morgan.

Yet Yeaman made twice as many errors last season.

I take your point about positions, but as Paul M has said, wherever he plays he is making the same errors with ball in hand.
Yeaman has recieved plenty of critism from Hull fans the last 3 years, you haven't read our board if you think otherwise, Yeaman is a different type of player, but has been much better in attack and defence than Hall in the last few years.

If you are going to use stats, use them properly.
He has made twice as many errors but had the ball 3 times more tha Hall.
So who makes the most errors per carries?

An error is an error irrespective of carries.
I would however expect better of a seasoned 'International' over a rookie constantly played out of position. But hey ho

I agree that Yeaman and Hall are different types of player and Yeaman suits Hull's rather conservative attacking style better than Craig, which makes his mistake ratio rather a concern inho.
So maybe this move will be suitable for all parties.
