| Before we got chester,I said I would be happy with webster and nothings changed with that, plus he's a red and white unlike mcnamara who isn't,also do you think mcnamara will be cheap ? I would imagine he will be on good money and for good money you must be able to get better than him.Newtons retired and somebody like him or galea who has the club at heart would be worth a shout.

You point to macnamaras poor coaching record in SL but say your happy with Webster who's one go in SL was a disaster and whether he's a Hull fan or not is irrelevant there professionals

Whilst I agree, galea and Newton know the club and Newton in particular is still very passionate about rovers, neither have any coaching experience whatsoever. We need someone with some experience after the Chester debacle, IMO. If the board are serious about movin forward as a club then we can't afford to take a gamble on guys that haven't even coached reserve grade rugby, even if they love the club. However, Newton is a good shout for some sort of role with the club in the future.

| Quote: deslawson "His cv is he took bradford from a team that lost in the elimination final the season he took over from noble,to being the 1st coach in bradfords history to not reach the playoffs and they were 10th each season he was there. He was also in charge for bradfords longest losing run in twenty years and signed off with a losing run of 8 or 9 successive matches, and the bradford fans praying they could get rid of him
As I said in an earlier post,he inherited the best england squad we have had for years and managed to leave the best halfback we had available, who ended up playing for scotland, danny brough out because he didnt like him.
If your impressed by his cv thats up to you,but it dosn't impress me iam afraid.'"
Bradford was a job too soon for Mcnamara, similar to Powell at Leeds. He also had to deal with the backdrop of a club in financial melt down, anyone would have struggled with that job, hence Noble leaving when he did. He'll have learned a hell of a lot in his time with England and in the NRL.
The Danny Brough Myth always amuses me, he has proven time and time again that he hasn't got the temperament to deal with big games and pressure situations. Yet he is touted as some master HB. I still think SM is tainted by the Rangi Chase pick tho, I would love to know if that was his choice or a 'coup' by the RFL that he had to use.

Noble left bradford to try and dig wigan out of the threat of relegation to take over from the sacked ian millward and will have been paid hansomely to do that.

Danny brough, like him or not is a quality player,2013 man of steel, challenge cup winner and was one of three players nominated for the 2013 rilf international player of the year alongside greg inglis and sonny bill williams. To be nominated alongside two of the games great players says it all,so somebody thought he could do it on the big stage, but obviously not you as you say it amused you.

I don't care if he won rear of the year, it doesn't take away from the fact that when he has been tested at the highest level he's failed and let his temperament overrun his talent. I don't doubt he's a very good player and his kicking game can be second to none but he has a tendancy to lose it, and when he does he is no use to anyone.
As for MOS, that was made worthless the year Rangi won it. Rangi's biggest claim to fame is that every team he has been with have made massive improvements from the day he left.

Danny brough could be the greatest players ever to have played the game but if he refuses to play for England then what was Steve McNamara supposed to do about it?

I thought he only refused to play for England having previously being snubbed by MaNamara.

| And that speaks volumes of the guy so he never deserved to play for England with a attitude like that

Sorry mate you have got it the wrong way round, brough had previously been picked for scotland, but said he wanted to play for england as scotland could never reach top international tournaments, then mcnamara got the england job and refused to pick him,so brough went back to play for scotland and as I said was nominated for the international player of the year alongside inglis and sonny bill, which basically says what a good player he is.For what its worth mcnamara picked that well known "englishman" rangi chase instead which says it all.

So because the coach never thought he was good enough to play for England he choses to play for Scotland then when he had a good season and was asked about playing for England he said no
Which to me says he refused to play and chose to play for Scotland instead
