| Poor Neil.
I bet he’s still in the 10-5 bar now, unwashed & dishevelled, surrounded by food wrappers, watching the 1980 final on loop on an old VHS player.

Unless it recently reverted, it is the 1882 Suite now. Apart from that, the club of choice and the use of VHS technology, isn’t that basically how everybody spends bank holidays? I vaguely recall there being helpful advice on what time to start the replay of Hull’s most recent cup final win, so the final whistle would go on the stroke of midnight at New Year.

Really? You’re using an article about mental health issues to try and point score?
Scraping the barrel there aren’t you?

No . Just showing how fickle Hull FC fans are . Booing him during games , generally getting on his back . Seems the “faithful” added to his personal problems , then you all applaud during a game to show support for him while he is recovering ...you couldn’t make it up .

So points scoring then.
Every single sports team, including yours, have fickle fans. I really don’t have to look very hard to see that your current stand in half back is getting quite alot of flack from the terraces.

Every club has a scapegoat whether it's right or wrong Yeamon was a scapegoat for you for a couple of seasons even after the service he put in until he redeemed himself Marsh happens to be ours at the moment and when you are the scapegoat nothing good you do gets noticed after the derby fans where saying we had 12 men because we had to carry Marsh when in fact he was no worse than some of the other players he's not good enough but probably doesn't deserve the flak he's getting

Spot on. I can’t think of a single club in any sport who doesn’t have at least one player that the fans never really take to.

Hull KR the pride of East Hull.: |
|
| With Heffernan once again going off with a concussion injury last night. For the 4/5 time that I can remember.
Does there become a point when we/he should look at retiring for his long term health before it becomes something serious like with Goulding.

This point was mentioned on the blunderside commentary. The long term Impact of these head knocks on the health of the players is known to be severe. I’m not sure if the game has changed and we are seeing more head injuries as a result or if the fact that the concerns are so prevalent they become much more highlighted.
But apparently players have to be given the ok to play by a neurologist, which suggests the safeguard responsibility is taken away from the club and given to an independent individual which is the correct way imo.

| Isn't there a maximum number of concussions you're allowed to take in your career before medical advice says enough? I seem to remember seeing something about it

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I think the legal ramifications of the NFL stuff in the US has got all sports concerned that if they don't ensure that players are not looked after then they will be sued.
The concussions in the past were not as heavily focussed on, but there are players such as Ian Roberts in Australia who are associating the lack of player care with brain damage.
Nowadays the clubs, governing bodies, their lawyers and insurers are all terrified of legal action. If players consistently get headknocks their clubs won't be able to insure them and they will have to retire whether they want to or not.

All of which makes you wonder why the persistence of the Easter fixture programme if player welfare is so important to the RFL?
They’re so contradictory to each other it beggars belief.
