| Respect to all those who fought in any conflict, pity the politicians treat them with so much contempt.

| Just watched a bit on the news this morning where current serving Paras were entertaining WW11 Paras in Normandy, todays brave, gutsy and dignified youth with yesterdays equivalent. Pity the reporting had to be shared with spineless, gutless MP's with no honour squirming and trying to justify themselves.

| On this morning 6th June 1944 150,000+ allied troops boarded ships and planes for Europe to free it from oppression and evil to those men I dedicate this..
We shall not grow old as that we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condem,
At the going of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
As you read this please stop and reflect for your tomorrow they gave their today

| We should remember the the people who gave their lives ,and those who survived.
Without them ,we wouldn`t be here today taking the pee out of each other.

Indeed it is a pity the politicians treat them with contempt, and so it continues.
Just picked my parents up from their trip to Normandy, apparently yesterday after waiting for 3 hours, the latter part in the pouring rain, our Prime Minister chose to go greet the American vets, a slap in the face or what! he then found himself roundly booed by our old boys.
Other than that they had a great time, mixing with all nationalities, Canadians, French, Italians, they didn't need the politicians, they were just an unwelcome distraction.

The thing i found most annoying was the way the French and the Yanks seemed to hijack the ceremony. You would have though the British were hardly involved.
Also it was an absolute disgrace that out head of state wan't even invited.

Some of the veterans wore badges with the Queens photo in protest.
Think the ceremony was in danger of becoming a Hollywood inspired Obama-fest.
The ordinary people on the street were quick to show their appreciation of the Brits though.
An Italian bloke got a bit over the top, hugging my Dad, he thought he was going to kiss him would've loved to have seen my Dads face, he may be 84 but I think he would've decked him!!
