| Lunt has been awesome but he's too crocked now (crying shame)
Lee is average
Addy is just plain awful, not just at hooker but Sheens doesn't see it
Lawler has played there in past years but Sheens doesn't see it
Atkin is too smaller but is fast and creative (but not perfect)

| Atkin provided a spark last night, that little bit of speed at dummy half was what we was crying out for. As has been said, Addy is too slow, Lawler passes too slow, Lee is bang average and thats why he's been at 85 clubs and unfortunatly it looks like Lunts had it, when he's fully fit there's no doubting his quality but will he ever get back to full fitness.
If we can get Parcell in as has been rumoured it could turn our season around, not sure Leeds would do a relegation rival a favour though

McShane
Roby
Dwyer
Parcel
Clarke
Hookers that are killing and terrifying teams with there runs from dummy half. This has been our problem all season and has cost us points IMO. But that idiot Sheens still sticks other players there that are NOT natural hookers. Lets hope Ford has sorted this when that pile of trash goes

Tbf, he knows and said we need a hooker (and a prop) after the game on Friday.
We don’t have any fit natural hookers at the moment. After what happened to Lunt at the end of last season, he’s very understandably listening to his body more. Hopefully Lee isn’t too far away but we’re not far off the point when it’ll feel like time is running out to make much of a difference.

| I really liked ZDC when he was with rovers. Thought he was a decent hooker and didn't want to see him leave. Far better than Lee and Addy imo.

I liked him with the ball, which is when I tend to notice individual players. I saw suggestions that his tackling wasn’t great though. Only 22 when he left, so if it hadn’t been for him being non-fed, I’d guess we might have persisted with him a bit longer.
He’s playing for Manly’s NSW cup team now, according to Wikipedia.

| I'd be happy if the Parcell rumour turns out to be true...though can't really see Leeds letting him go - unless they have someone else lined up. Only ever seen Parcell on TV or when visiting craven park. Good player.
Wasn't James Cunningham rumoured to be heading Rovers' way last year or year before? Probably read that on here somewhere. Another good hooker...and East Huller. I'd be happy with that signing...though can't see that one happening either.

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil.: |
|
| Natural hookers:
Lunt - too injury prone
Lee - simply not good
Makeshift/cover for the 9 role:
Addy - not a hooker & not SL standard regardless of position
Lawler - not a hooker
Atkin - the best of the makeshift options, but still not as good as any natural 9. Should be a starting 1/2 back IMO.
Any option that is a natural in the role (& is better than Lee) will be a positive addition to what we’ve been seeing for the majority of this season.

Dwyer is the perfect example of why there is more to being a hooker than running from DH. He is a liability at times. Way too erratic.

| Has Craig Harrison not got any available hookers, as he seems your main source of recruitment, now that he big pal will be in charge of recruitment.
Minikin
Ryan
Hadley
All looking like signing next year and all on Craigs books.

I don't know much about Mellor, he looked good against us at Magic, but then you and I would have that game.
Tough to recruit this year, with Toronto likely to come up and Wigan and Leeds looking to spend some money, we are a bit fortunate that we have some quota spots and think thats why we are getting our recruitment done early.
I think Hadley and Abdul are good signings, plus Lui if he still comes (Which looks unlikely now).
Cunningham would also be a very good signing for you, if he wants a move back North.
