| Got to admit that Sheensy has made some excellent signings this season, for me Andrew Heffernan has to be the best pound for pound signing in English rugby league this season. Really need to sign this kid down to a 4 year deal as I can see 10 or so of the Super League teams being interested. Dockar Clay looks very good also, Johnson going well too.
Does anyone else have all confidence in Tim Sheens getting us up? Not getting carried away too much after a sound win against Leigh, I just think with another £300,000 (as reputed) to spend on new recruits in the coming weeks/months, I really feel Sheens is getting value for money out of the players he has signed, something that we have not had since Justin Morgan era.

| Impressed with Sheens. It feels like he is on top of it - which you'd expect in fairness, given his experience.
Still a really tough task, but I'm happy we've got the right man to give us a good shot at it.

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'

| I spoke to a former player of his recently and he said he was the most focused coach he'd ever known, he said that he will be looking at rounds 1 to 23 as pre-season, also he will have a game plan for every team we are likely to face in the middle 8's already to go now and will just adjust to suit. Sounds good to me.

| Huddersfield & Widnes are really, really poor this year, and you've proven you can beat Leigh already. Hudds are particularly bad, a lot worse than last year and they only just avoided the MPG.
There's a lot of rugby to be played yet, and as MR said Rovers have a chunk of cap to play with, and other clubs may make signings - but if I was a betting man I'd bet on Rovers in SL in 2018.

The OP and I just share the same avatar image - I've no idea how much cap or budget we have available. After Johnson and ZDC I'm not even certain we'll sign any more. I'd have thought a couple at most - we're already up to about number 34 in the squad iirc. Unless some move on, but I think/hope Sheens will have invested enough effort in building squad cohesion that he won't want a lot of last minute turnover.
We refused to panic last year, and tbf it very, very nearly worked out okay. Before, y'know, it didn't. It'll be interesting to see whether Hudds see a more compelling need for drastic action, and what options might be. A new coach being the obvious one.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| As glad as I was last year, I'm once again reassured by the Hull fans superior insight into our situation.
I am also incredibly grateful for their superior knowledge on this knew league we find ourselves in.
On a personal level, I'm thinking of employing one as a sage.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| We have been lukewarm on here in general towards our loan halves this year, but Abdull and Ellis showed up very well yesterday and I have been happy with them.
Of the new signings, whether Sheens' or not, only Addy has truly underwhelmed so far, but he has been unlucky with injury.
Heffernan and Quinlan the new Sheens standouts for me. Johnson and Dockar-Clay look very promising. Also very impressed with the extra performance contributions that TS has got to date from Clarkson, Donaldson, Mulhern and Shaw. Only Horne has gone backwards and needs to go imo.

Agree as far as Quinlan's attacking prowess is concerned but I am not overly impressed with his one on one defence. He should have stopped Leigh's second try and his reaction showed he realised that. There have been other examples not least being stood up by the Sheffied winger!

Not unless he is played in that position and TS has not shown any inclination to do that so far.

That's an understatement on his defence I haven't seen him make a one on one tackle he makes Kieron Dixon look like Shaun briscoe his attack is excellent though
