I think you need to read it again TBH.
The and his point is that position 7/8 are going to be 3 wins away from a top 4 finish. There will be only 7 games so the chance of it happening and slim to none therefore team in positions 7/8 realistically are going to play 7 dead rubber games, whats the point in that?
A SL team finishing 9-12 will at least have a fresh start on 0 points so every game WILL mean something.

This was always the problem with the way the Super 8's were structured and it's something I mentioned at the time. It would IMHO be/have been better to either have the points for the regular SL season halved or allow teams to keep their +/- PD and nothing else bearing in mind that the teams towards the top get an advantage due to fixtures anyway.

What financial benefits?

Quote me on this come the end of the middle 8's, but lets see your opinion when FC finish 8th and have said scenerio. You wont gain anything for the bigger sides if your own fans dont turn up when losing 5/6 out of 7 etc. Home form is vital in that.

As for the money side. Away fans, barring FC and a couple of other teams, you dont get much in SL. Leigh and Bradford would of course travel as its a group they dont go too and would be classed as a big game in comparison.

Said this straight from Sunday night, given the results, i want us to finish 9th. 8th offers us nothing.

Financially, 9th & 10th will be much better for us than 8th. The extra home game (walk ups, away fans, corporate & bar takings) will be far more than a couple of hundred extra away fans. Besides , if we get Leigh at home they will shift 800 North Stand tickets faster than certain clubs closer to home.

Finishing 8th could be far more damaging for 2016 pass sales compared to finishing 9th. Remembering potentially losing 6 of your last 7 games could be enough to put some fans of renewing. The Radford out banners would be out come game 4. It would do Rovers no harm finishing 9th and been able to test new plays and ideas before the 2016 season. At the end of the day, a win is a win. No fear of relegation with our current squad. Can't see the crowds dropping much either.
