| Can't believe I'm saying this but if he keeps up his recent form he may just get his contract extension. I've really slated him in recent times but credit where it's due he's starting to perform. Probably due a lot to do with the campese factor though, putting him through like galea used to.

| He's certainly enjoying his rugby, and more so, breaking tackles with a hand off.

| Totally transformed player. Don't recall seening this aggressive hand off before? Defence has been very solid as well. Think Maurice Blair has played a big part in this.

| I've possibly been Welham's biggest critic and even I'm prepared to admit he's playing well. Since coming back in at Warrington, he's been almost faultless. I would hold off on that contract for a month or 2 though.

| The name of this thread should be changed to - MONTHLY TRANSFORMATION REPORT.
Welham playing like we have never seen him play before and in the form of his life.
Dixon our starting fullback - a real attacking threat with ball in hand.
Carlile our coach's #1 choice of hooker gone and replaced with a major upgrade in this position.
Bailey gone. Everybody happy and a new 200 game starting Nrl prop due in a few weeks.
Blair, an unsung hero, adding class, steel and power to our left edge and a 3rd kicking option out of hand.
Green finally realising his potential as an impact prop.
Campo signing a 2 year extension to his current deal.
It could all unravel, but if my next MONTHLY TRANSFORMATION REPORT is as extensive and positive, then a new contract for Welham, Boudebza, Larroyer and Lunt should be priority after that.

| At this moment he is worth 2 more years but could depend on Halletts progress he's a shoe in to make it all being well and if CC thinks he could be starting centre next year or 2017 then we might be best keeping salter on less wage than welham as stand in? Just my opinion but boudebza could be the same with Connor Robinson. Tho at this very moment both KW and JB are worth new deals.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I'm very very pleased for Welham. He's had to take a fair few knocks and has (eventually) come back better than ever.
I think that says a lot about his psychological approach to the game.
Sport at this level is, for me, ten per cent physical, forty per cent natural ability (I'll admit I'm just plucking this shizzle from the air, as all good salesmen say, it's merely for illustrative purposes) and fifty per cent psychological.
Barring disabilities most people on this board could get themselves as fit as a pro RL player. Some might even have the ability, but when the margins are so fine you have to have something in your brain that gives you that edge.
I think sprinting, the 100 metres is the purest form of sport. Usain Bolt has managed to harness, capture and train that part of his brain that allows him to fully exploit all his naturally given qualities and ability.
I am not comparing Welham to Bolt for the thicko's.

I have a Welsh mate who thinks that getting the sheep to jump straight into your wellies prior to a seeing to is the purest form of sport. For the purpose of fair comparison and also for the thicko's, I am not inferring that Welham Is Welsh or attracted to sheep bonking like most Welshmen.
That said he was psychologically out thinking and out performing Steve Michaels in the derby yesterday.

That's because you have to admit you're wrong about the 100m

| So, enlighten me as to what is.
I think this probably comes down to opinion, what I'm trying to (badly) illustrate is that I think that elite sport, whatever sport, is a about having and exploiting a psychological advantage.
I can't see purer expression of that than one person being able to simply run faster than another, but to be able to do that takes a myriad of complexities.

The bad news as far as you're concerned is that I agree with you on this, thereby meaning that we will get along fine.
That's why we're bringing in JP next year to pass on some winning psychology.
