| Very good news for Hull as a city, into the last four as city of culture contenders, now lets go all the way and make it happen.

| TBH Hull has more for it then when you first look.
7 museums, A good art gallery, 2 theaters , Farmers market, Premier league football club, etc.
I was talking about this at work and how much there is to actually do for free and there is more than is first apparent when you think about it.
We have already seen off Chester, East Kent, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Southampton, Southend-on-Sea and Aberdeen.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Chester were initially one of the favourites to win it.

Have they managed to make it fit? I heard they'd made it a few feet short?

Plus stuff like the Freedom Festival, which was an outstanding weekend last year in the old fruit market.

| We need to spend many millions to get anywhere near what Liverpool did when they were chosen, the legacy is still there.

Yes, but Liverpool was the European city of culture. Hull's bid is for a purely British one.

| Didn't most of Liverpools revamp come about BECAUSE they were chosen rather than in order to get chosen?
