| Some may say it's a bit early to talk about this but with players being able to talk to clubs on May 1st now i think it's worth asking Rovers fans which ooc players we would like to keep. Here is the list of players i believe are ooc tho i may be wrong.
Mickey Paea - No brainer needs at least a 2 year deal possibly 3 always gives good go forward
Con Mika - I've been critical in the past but Sandy seems to have got it right with the lad's new 'impact' role and baring in mind he is still young i'd give at least a 2
George Griffin - Now Taylor has gone easily our best young forward and imo needs a long term contract
Ryan 'O' Hara - Rate the man but we are not in a position to offer players contracts who can only play half a season maybe he's been unlucky with us but can't imagine it getting any better with his age etc, Maybe a dual role if Sandy stays as player/assistant coach
Rich Beaumont - An unlucky lad that Sandy obviously doesn't rate so i think he'll go
Jordan Cox - Another one who has been unlucky and might be worth another year but really needs to step up the rest of the year
Keal Carille - Had a good year so far deserving of a 2 year deal has a great foil for JH
Lincoln Withers - A high earner we could do without with the emergance of Josh Hodgson and Keal Carille imo
Graham Horne - A tricky one here as last year even though i never saw him in my first choice 17 he was always an able deputy but a bit inconsistent at the start of this year, i think he will probably get an extension maybe for a year to give the likes of Ollett and Esselmont time to develop in to the 1st team squad.
Sam Latus - Another Sandy doesn't rate and imo hasn't moved on since he first came in to the team in 2010 so will go
Alex Brown - This man has loads of raw talent and considering we have Hodgson and Caro contracted for next year i'd give him another year and see how it goes.
I think that's it but i may of missed someone i think it's all pretty clear cut except maybe Horne, Cox and Brown at the moment. Anyone else got any thoughts??

| Hopefully Sandercock won't be around to give carthorses like Mika another deal. I timed his break on Monday. He left the field at 3.28pm and returned at 4.14pm. That's some half time break for a 23 year old. Lazy get, send him packing.
O'Hara & Withers have to go, if only due to the quota "bye" expiring with their contracts. Cox doesn't run his size, looks like a local version of David Mills - get rid.
Keep Paea, G.Horne, Griffin & Brown.

Mika is lazy does a couple of 5 minute spells puts 2 big tackles in and thinks his work is done
Cox has gone backwards although i dont think hes been bad in the last couple of games
O'Hara is great when hes on the pitch but isnt on enough
Beaumont is 23 and hasnt broken through yet so dont think he will now
Green thought this would be his season dont know whats happened to him

| I don't think Mika is lazy, I just think he's got a terrible engine. His errors and missed tackles (Monday apart) are awful, get rid unless something dramatic happens between now and September.
O'Hara, has a good hairstyle, arms and legs have fallen off though.
Withers, not required.
Horne, rubbish and we've got youngsters coming through in the second row.
Brown, looks like the bloke from Cameo, he can stay, Word Up!
Latus, not good enough, shame, bit like his fish 'n chips.
Paea, has a lovely smile and runs like a bull at a gate, 3 years.
Beaumont, not going to make it if he hasn't by now.
Cox, thick as pig e, gone seriously off the boil at the moment but has talent. Defended well on Sunday and is also the whitest man in Britain, even whiter than Morph's mate. Can't remember his name. One more year but will probably get offered better terms by someone else.
Griffin, seems pretty solid and a griffin was on the coat of arms for my primary school, three years.
Carlile, taken his chance well, not as good as Hodgson but spells him well, 2 years.
Give Salter an improvement so he can buy some new boots instead of those terrible yellow ones.
Walker, how long did we sign him for? Give him an extension just because I'm in a giving mood.
Billy Mallinson, don't like the look of him, never have, bet he's a wrong un. Wears ladies tights. Support stockings, couldn't stop a pig in a ginnel.

Did I say that? I probably did, I'm quite fickle. I think he's going alright at the moment, seems pretty solid defensively and consistently finds his front in the tackle.
I didn't like Tuimavave at first but I think he's been really good since Bradford.

| It looks like this season is going to see a battle for 8th spot in the table. Somehow we need to evolve the squad to make next season a battle for 5th/6th. Top 4 will be to big a jump imo. Improvements in our youngsters will see a natural improvement in our squad but i think we will need to shed a couple of big earners in order to bring some quality in. O'Hara and Withers are the likely casualties and i wouldnt be surprised to see Dave Hodgson go given that we have a fair few wingers in the squad. We will undoubtedly try to keep Paea. Mika i am not so sure, depends on who is coach i reckon. Players like Carlile, Cox and Horne will get new deals because the likeliness is we wont be able to recruit better on similar money.
Who have i missed? Oh yes, Billy Mallo. I would keep Billy if only because he matches Sandra for mentalness.
Edit. Beaumont and Latus go. Griffin to stay hopefully but looking at both of his brothers willingness to change clubs frequently it may well be a family trait.

| Beaumont is 25 and Morph's mate was called Chas.
I'd have to see who is available from elsewhere before commenting further - I'm guessing hardly anybody. Frosties should be getting his annual list ready on the VT soon, I imagine.

| I guess a lot depends on the market and who we could realistically bring in to replace the below.
Paea - Ever present thus far and we're a better player with him on the pitch. You'd love him to be on longer, but that's not really going to happen and we should look for others to provide that option, should we want it. New/better deal
Mika - The man who divides opinion (to some). I would say he has improved (or just not been as bad) since he had that 1st half shocker against Warrington last season. It’s easy to forget he is still a young player but unless we find a way to use him effectively, then he’s just a bit of luxury player - who doesn’t really merit such a tag. If he was to be used down the middle and as an impact player, then he really has to give everything into his ‘spells’ and make us look at him differently. Right now, the odd hit up and ‘thunderous’ tackle isn’t going to win his critics over. Need more from him to justify a new deal. New deal very much dependent on who else is available and probably who our coach will be next season.
Horne – Missed two super league games since signing as a bit part player. Looks like he’s playing for a new deal which isn’t a bad thing. I’ve no doubt CS would give him a new deal and perhaps Hudgell himself after his comments about his attitude/effort vs Wigan. He’s got experience and that’s something we’re lacking. I’d give him a new deal as I feel he’s more than earned it and represents good value for money. But again, if there’s someone else out there who may bring more to the squad, a new deal is anything but guaranteed.
Withers – Time to let go. Decent stop gap, and is a useful player but time to move on.
O’Hara – Time to let go. Again decent stop gap and is a good player, but he’s been off the pitch too much to be even considered for a new deal. Not entirely sure how his/Withers’ free quota will go, but I wish them both well.
Cox – Career stagnating even before his awful injury. Prepared to give him the opportunity being home grown as we can’t just chuck these home grown ticks away. Not while it doesn’t look like there’s a Cox V2 coming through.
Latus – Assume we kept him on as a home grown tick, but he’s been replaced by the likes of Caro and Brown. Offers nothing as a super league player.
Beaumont – a bit like Cox. Another tick but he needs to run his size. Older than Mika too. Probably a few months to prove himself.
Griffin – has looked a super league player more or less ever since finally getting a game last season. New/betterer deal.
Carlile - taken his chance well, not as good as Hodgson but spells him well, 2 years. © pmh.
Brown – Worth persevering with.
Billy M – I always think other teams look fitter than us.

| Paea - keep
Mika - give him the rest of this season to prove himself
Horne - drop
Withers - drop
O'Hara - drop
Cox - assess at end of season
Latus - Drop now!!!!!!
Beaumont - assess at end of season
Griffin - people on here are obviously seeing something I'm not. Assess at end of season.
Carlisle - keep
Brown - definately keep. Always looking for work, strong and fast. Prone to mistakes which may just be down to experience.
Mallinson - contrary to others think we look fit but his regime has given us loads of training injuries.

"I've been rich & I've been poor. Rich is better." DLR: |

| Mickey Paea - No brainer, think we might struggle to keep hold unfortunately.
Con Mika - Cops a bit of criticism but still young & learning. New deal probably depends on Sandercock staying.
Lincoln Withers - Good last year but we can't afford high(ish) earners (Jake Webster) on the sideline these days.
Ryan O'Hara - Same as Lincoln Withers.
George Griffin - Another no brainer, developing really well.
Graham Horne - Does what it says on the tin & won't be costing much. New deal for me.
Alex Brown - Impressed so far, very surprised if he doesn't get a longer deal.
Keal Carlile - Not sure. Going ok but limitations are showing a bit imo in a crucial position.
Rich Beaumont - Never had much of a crack, not likely to get one now.
Jordan Cox - Running out of patience tbh. Potential gets you so far, needs to start performing soon.
Sam Latus - Honest tryer, just not a SL player.
