| Having just browsed the FC equivalent I thought we should have one. They are very confident, based mainly on our performance, not their own. I have to say I'm not confident at all. On paper we had more chance last year, and got battered. 2 wins in 6 Good Friday SL games is not a good omen, and no win since 2009, when we had a good team and coach.
Hull by 16.

| I'm an FC fan and cannot justify the other fans confidence of a win based purely on your defence this season. Our attack has been poor which has put pressure on our defence to work harder. I can see it being close for 60 minutes, then you get a couple of breakaway tries to win by 12

| I guess they will use that 'secret' tactic of targetting Dobson.

| Well I'm gonna be ignorant like most of their fans. Should be an easy game, player for player we're better bar maybe the wings, they got battered by a shocking widnes side an drew with an equally shocking London team; oh and we're above them in the league. We don't need to target one single player because they have no single threat. Our attack will win this game comfortably for us and our defence can just turn up.
Most of their fans will understand that, it's more to their unique language and pure arrogance.
To the ones with brains and a bit of common sense. As I've said on other threads, 6-10 point margin either way. Rovers have a huge advantage in the halves, but it's a derby and its always 50/50 come kick-off. Whoever wants it more will come away with the spoils.

Ignore those results, Hull are Jekyll & Hyde home v away. The only teams to have gotten anything in SL at the KC in the Gentle era are Wigan (win last season), Wire (win this season, draw last) & Saints (draw last season). Meanwhile, name the "top 6"sides we have beaten away under Sandercock?

| Both clubs have nothing to fear from each other on recent performances
I expect home advantage will probably tell and our usual weak defence will make an appearance a couple of times in the game
Think I've gone for Hull by 14

| Home advantage and our recent poor record at the KC (Barring the playoff game) points to an FC win. However, they have no half backs and are missing Yeaman, who loves to play against us. I think it has draw written all over it. 20-20

| It's certainly not beyond us, if we play well.
They probably need a win more - okay, the 4 teams we'll have not played will then be Wigan, Leeds, Hudds and Saints, so we'd be up against it a bit, but our expectations are a tad more modest at the moment. To have expected to be around 4th/5th, then start 2-2-5 would put Hull and Gentle under real pressure. Having sneaked home last night, I think we can play with a little less fear. They'll be motivated, but if it doesn't go according to plan early and their makeshift halfback pairing is stuttering, the tension might get to them. We really need to work our socks off up front though (Paea and Tuimavave looked decent last night I thought), and cut right down on the errors - Hull won't make us too many gifts, I'm sure.
If they start strongly, their pack gives whoever plays 6 and 7 some space and we have to chase it, it could get ugly.
In semi-irrational hope, I'll say Rovers by 7.

| Hull are lacking creativity and despite us having the best halves in the universe, I still think we'll come up short.
As others have said, our recent record @ the KC is poor and to add to that our away record under CS is awful (5 wins from 17 games). Hull on the other hand have a phenomenal home record under PG. They've only dropped points in four games! Losing twice (Wigan and Wire) and drawing twice (St Helens and Wire). They’ve wiped the floor with everyone else they’ve played. Casually glancing past the 56 points Wigan put on them, the next highest points against was against Salford (26pts).
I think we need to resort to the tried and tested JM tactics to achieve. “Build the frepping pressure”. Complete our sets, good kicking game, no stupid offloads – play the game in their half and have control. I don’t see Hull (Briscoe apart and he’s due tbf) doing much if we control the game. The problem as we know is, this side doesn’t play like that and will probably try to score from every opportunity we get. Gift possession over in our 30m / stupid needless penalties and no defence to get away with it.
Last year’s games against Hull were very lacking esp in terms of performance. Seeing as Hudge spoke of his disappointment recently of the lack of ‘up for the derbies last year’ – I really hope/expect we’ll see some fire from our boys this time.
Be interesting to see how our old boys (traitors to some) go. Watts had a stormer @ CP last year. We know what Galea’s about but he’ll definitely want to show us we were wrong to let him leave/retire. I fear McD will tear us apart. Hull edge it for me.
I think the only changes (injuries permitting) I’d make would be Lovegrove for Beamount and Salter for Brown (Hall if fit, playing on the wing)

| I think McDonnell will buckle under some crowd pressure like he did at times in the pre season game, that or he'll have a stormer
