City of Hull academy!!!!!!

It is just the formation of a company at the moment and it would only be for the academy teams. Surely it would make sense for both clubs to share costs of having one centre for both academies to train etc.

What do we think?

I am not sure about this!!!!!

Seems strange to me, who would the players be signed too? Which club would get to choose who they wanted.

Sounds a sensible idea to me, pool resources. I'd imagine that we'd scout our own players and Hull would scout theirs.

What I did find amusing on that thread was the assumption that we're doing this to share Hull's facilities and anyone whose any good will automatically sign for them and we'll get the left overs.

I got to agree with that, over the last few years (apart from the present 16s) I would argue most of the talent has come your way.

From what I understand as of next season the acadamies will be merged (RFL involvement) and share the facilities yet will play as East City of Hull and West City of Hull. At present there is a North East representative team and a Cumbrian representative team. Maybe its the first step to merging the youth set up but all will become clear in the future I suppose. It is laughable that that lot think everyone will automatically want to sign for them though!!!

One poster mentioned the resources and one other claimed all the good players would want to sign for us.

As mentioned above, just one poster made that claim on the entire thread. The fact that most people were cautious at best and suspicious at worst should indicate that the majority don't share that opinion.

Seems a good idea if the clubs can get it right. lets face it every two years both clubs need to find around 25 young lads to field a team most of who will never make the grade that is 25 handy lads who would be best left in the local sides where they can be stars to me it is a winer for the local teams & the Pro clubs.

Oh I've come across it. I just like to refute it whenever possible. A futile task I know, but meh.

You are all pale, ginger, Brylcreemed imitations of me, and utterly inadequate. Here, have a Baristathon, not done this for a bit.

Interesting week for Hudgell's "Challenging for honours" era. Defeat at Odsal. Talismanic Murrell binned off. Green takes it upon himself to stand on a handy box in the changing room to announce his departure, presumably unsanctioned given the club source response. Club academies merge and, crazily, Neil has to allow the registered office of the new entity to be the KC stadium. Good lad, Adam, we know who wears the trousers in that arrangement already. Agar, a subject of ridicule on both sides of the city for 4 years, practises his best Braveheart rallying cry to Wakefield, the form team of the competition. And the best effort to mask the odour of this swirl of plopitude is not even to announce a signing early, but to put a rumour of a 12 match bannee signing out there early. My, oh my. Oh, and the filing deadline for Rovers accounts is just 2 weeks away. Busy times. Frantic, even. Did I mention David Howes or the pitch? I'll keep them warm, then.

You forgot to mention a one-match ban for one of their young "stars" for a cowardly Fieldenesque Knee-shot. In fact, he's cited for the same offence twice in that game.

rlJames Green's Knees-Up At Odsalrl

As you say, Mrs B. Not a good week. I also heard a strange tale of a nasal coach being told about conduct in front of media. Dunno what that means.

The action is. Running at a defender with knee-raised can only serve to injure an opponent while ensuring the attacker is protected. The fact he did it twice in the same game is stupidity in itself.
