Not looking good on the contract front. He's apparently turned down Rovers first offer. It's reported he's not in a rush to sign a new contract but Hudge wants it sorting soon as he doesn't want him walking away for free at the end of 2013.
It's reported that relations between KR and Taylors agent, David Howes, are strained following a dispute over a previous player deal earlier in the year.
It seems this instance is what Hudge was alluding to in the match program when he said about resenting backing players and investing in them from a young age only to have their agents peddle them around to suit their own needs.
The report says they (Taylor and Howes) could be issued an ultimatum in the coming weeks to commit to Hull KR or look to move elsewhere in 2013.

Looking like it could get nasty as both Hudge and Howes seem reluctant to back down.

That is probably what Taylor wants anyway, pointless having a major dummy spit as the only losers will be KR as unhappy players performances tend to drop off. I would consider the best outcome would be to accept offers for him this year, that way win win

The way I assess the situation is this; Rovers are entering a transitional period which will see the club consolidating its mid-table position (5-8th), whereas Scott Taylor is on the verge of being a top-4 player.

IMO it is no different to the Jon Wilkin situation in that it was inevitable he would leave. Rovers were right to cash-in back then and I say the same now IF Scott wants to leave.

The irony of it is Rovers have (for the first time in SL) a rich vien of talent in the u20s and u18s. But clubs in Rovers current position find it difficult to hold onto such talent because of the pull of the top-4. Maybe in 2-3 yrs Rovers will be in a far better position to retain the likes of Scott, but in the meantime the reality is stark.

Just a thought, perhaps the Scott Taylor situation explains the reasoning behind the signing of Evarn Tui? But lets not forget Rovers also have Rich Beaumont and James Green knocking on the door. Its not the end of the world (although I am still suffering from the Derby Blues).

Possibly, although he may also choose the club he supports, who will have gaz ellis and possibly rangi chase playing for them next year and who would also mean he could have a much easier commute to work each day

Hudge has already said if he won't sign they will sell and get a fee for him so then does it go to the highest bidder as kr hold his contract and also does Scott get a say were he wants to go or is that up to rovers who they sell him to
