Rovers are reporting that 10% of 2016 memberships sold so far are to first time buyers. On top of news that we have achieved record first week sales, this has got to be promising news. Let's hope it continues.

Makes you wonder about the Wembley factor. Taking away the result. I wonder how many new fans have decided on a pass for next year off the back of a huge event like the challenge cup final.

Doubt it.

The 80 minutes itself was a total disaster but the weeks between the semi and final saw the club get never seen before exposure and media coverage. That has got to be a help.
I imagine that the coffers will have been boosted too so our marketing budget may see an increase. We may be able to get the word out to more people.

That was what I was getting at. The result was, as we know.......'God awful'!
But as RBA said, the weeks leading up to that game had us in a light never witnessed before by the club.

And interestingly our marketing budget will be increased off the back of the profits of our cup run. I'd hazard a guess Rovers made close to half a million with all the prize money, ticket sales and merchandise sold

The 80 mins of the final was bloody awful, we all know that. The weekend itself was a great experience, but the semi final was just amazing; everything just slotted into place, and that is the day that will probably sell the passes to all the 'non regulars' that made the trip.

That is one of the advantages of following an unfancied team; we take our pleasures where we find them.
Success can breed apathy - check out the number of "can't be bothered with the cup" posts from some fans of the likes of Saints, Leeds, Wigan etc.

Yeah I know what you mean I loved the cup run even the final getting beat 50-0 I wasn't as depressed as I thought I would be good times coming again hopefully

Where X is happiness, Y is results and Z is expected results. If someone comes along and, all relaxed and confident, massively inflates your Z there'll most likely be trouble somewhere down the road.

Nowt worse than an enlarged Z, I had one once but you can get a cream for it. It often leads to a dose of reality afterwards.

Buying my first membership for a number of years. Nothing to do with the Wembley factor, more to do with the kids flying the nest thus more disposable income.
