| After his recent displays the usual rumour mongers are claiming he is on his way to Saints at the end of the season !!
Anyone know anything to the contrary.
If we have any sense and aspire to be a top 4 club we should tie him and green up to long term contracts similar to the bigger clubs. We have to stop developing players only to see them move on for nothing.

Never. Paea is quality, have him back in a heartbeat. Never drops his standards, Cox is nowhere near.

Totally agree. As good a forward Paea is, Wayman has made a more immediate impact. And I'd say he is a better replacement. Seems to enjoy the rapport with the fans a lot more too. Very quickly becoming a favourite with a lot of us.
As for Cox, Unfortunately, you can throw all the money in the world at him. If his mind (or his agents mind) has been to find a more successful club than us, then there's not a lot we can do. Loyalty unfortunately doesn't come into it these days. Tho it bloody well should, if a contract isn't too shabby either.

| Jordan Cox has been rumoured since before the playoff game from the saints end.
James Green was then mentioned earlier in the season to come to us alongside Cox.
Travis Burns is the latest "rumour" to saints to replace lance hohaia whose rumoured to be returning to the NRL at the end of the year.
At this point I just think there's an agent who likes using saints name. 3 from one team isn't going to happen.

Don't think this would happen, not for the foreseeable future anyway.
Saints not got any promising forwards in their under 19's ??
Rovers get a slagging with the apparent lack of youngsters coming through their ranks. Taylor at Wigan, Beaumont at Saints, and now the names of Cox and Green to the latter tends to dispel that myth now.

Neither do I (well, I do think Hohaia is going back to the NRL, but I don't think travis burns will be our target replacement - that's no slur on him, but our chairman has made it clear what he wants for the team and burns doesn't meet the here for the next 5 year I'd imagine.)
As for our youngsters, it gets more confusing, as we have a tonne of them. Richards, Savelio and Thompson all played vs Leeds as 18yr olds - greenwood is developing well and is younger than cox - walker gets mixed reviews, but is still young, and has (the dreaded word) potential - that's a pack in itself! We need youngsters who are playmakers - any of those we could steal?
I wouldn't use Beaumont in any argument you use though given were 2 months into the season, and he's still at least a month away!

| Fair enough. Was allways a strange decision that he went to you, and I suppose the jury's still out with him in your eyes. Even so, you took him off our hands, so there must of been some promise that you saw in him?
Cox would be a more ball playing forward than green, so I can understand the interest. Green, id say is more a battering ram. Still if you've got so many promising forwards in your academy, then I don't know why you wouldn't persevere with them first.

Beaumont on paper was a great addition - big and heavy! Brown obviously thought he could get him running his weight (the complaint I picked up on here) - alas we've stopped giving out expected return dates!
Green, Richards, Greenwood, Cox, Savelio have the potential to be a truly world class pack to be fair, though I'd rather hkr benefit from their own youth development!
