| Ok, nobody's mentioned it.
Hicks was appalling.
1) Dubious sin bin
2) No team warning for Wakey after numerous infringements all similar
3) No yellow card when tackling Dixon in the air in a try scoring move
4) Double movement is a penalty not a scrum - does he not even know the rules to misinterpret them?
We looked clueless at times but Wakey parked the bus and played spoiling tactics deliberately and constantly that went unpunished. All power to them for trying it but Hicks did nothing.

| I think he also gave a fair few awful (was going to say terrible, but some pillock over used that earlier) decisions against Wakey.
I'd really like to look at a different angle for Dixon's no try, he appeared to have the ball in both hands, I didn't see him ground it and then a penalty was given against Wakey, is that not a penalty try?
Like I said, I didn't have the best view, and I'm also hopeless at the laws of the game.
There were multiple baffling decisions, Kelly clearly lost control of the ball, penalty to us, it's a hard game to officiate but come on these people are paid professionals.

You are having a laugh, hicks was awful but Wakey were on the wrong end of more dubious calls than KR. Admittedly our discipline was poor but some of his calls were shockers.

Penalty count is meaningless, he is just a poor referee, never took control of the game at all and it descended into farce with penalties being given for god knows what.
Most fans will say he favoured the opposition but in all honestly he was equally as bad both ways.
Did make me laugh when you look at his decisions and work out the one thing it couldn't have been was what he gave. the double movement one near the end was a classic, the one thing it couldn;t have been was a scrum but that was the decision, baffling.

| He set the tone early on when I blew up early on against us and then seemingly reciprocated next set or so in our favour. I had thought that Hicks had improved a bit of late, but he was the old unsure, whistleblowing, clueless official he was/is.
For the dbl movement decision - his touch judge gave a knock on when he attempted to reach out.

| What about the kick that hit the wakey man in the face, hicks deems it played at and resets tackle count about 15m out! That stood out but Hicks needs to let games flow a bit more.

| I thought he was really poor but maybe if I watched the game on tv I might see someof the decisions.
It's not a good sign when both sets of supporters say he was bad and the winning coach has a go when he really doesn't need to.
I watched the sin-binning on the Super league clip and I think that is really harsh. None of the Wakefield players were moaning about it and actually reacted when he blew his whistle thinking it was against them again.
Regardless of the total number, there were times when you got penalty after penalty to just walk you up the field when you were struggling. It really hurt us and Hicks was clearly wrong on some but equally, we needed to tidy our play so he didn't have the opportunity.

| Well judging from the comments about both teams, it appears you got the referee you both deserved.

| Hicks seemed to penalise us for some baffling decisions then decided to even it up in the 2nd half. He was poor for both teams but then again it was 2 poor teams playing.

That's about right. Wakey were poor. We were worse. Hicks was a car crash from start to finish.

Straight penalty counts can be very misleading. Penalties late in the count are often very damaging. The 'evening up' type penalties are inevitably on the zero / 1st tackle (often in quick succession) & aren't such an advantage.
