It's finally got real and important. There are still huge question marks about the squad ( and coach) that could get answered on Sat.

23 sheets in advance is another culture shock after this season.

I have this down as a loss, plus Warry also.
Just need to concentrate on winning the 4 home games plus picking off Fev. Not an easy task but I think do-able if we develop week on week with a settled first 17 and stay injury free.
But it isn't stopping me handing over the cash and travelling to Leigh again, only this time not so full of expection.

As you say, question's still around the team, but hopefully answer some, learn as squad and move on. Sheens now needs to earn his corn.

This should give us an understanding of exactly were we are as a team, by no means a must win but a win would definitely put us on track, as a minimum we need a performance that allows the team to believe we can compete in these 8's and the MPG if needed.

I see it as a game we could do to win but not essential. We need to pick off 2 SL sides if we have any hope of avoiding the mpg. Lose and we will have to beat Widnes and Catalans, as well as the other 2 Champ teams. A win would buy us wiggle room.

Agree with above posts and it is a free shot in some ways.Thinking back to the cup game ok they were in a slump in form but we more than matched them in the pack and the speed in defence and attack was very good.Factor in the good performance away at a red hot Salford and we have shown we can play to the required level.Im hoping we see something like that and the people saying Sheens is a genus and we've been holding back are correct.Head says Leigh win,heart says we win.You never know in sport.

Stop Drinkwater and Mortimer and we've got enough to compete. Going to be interesting to see who's fit and who's not.

Good point, but let's not make the pair of them out to be Thurston & Cronk, they are pretty average players. Just because our halves suck doesn't change that!

I agree, if we can match their pack then the halves will have less time to play. They are an old team and if we can live with them for the first 20 then we have every chance. They'll look to blow us away and once that's out the way we just need to run around Cory 'flat track' and he'll wave you through.

Not got tickets yet, are we behind the sticks or down the side ( like the cup match)?

Leigh's 6 and 7 may not be Thurston and Cronk but they are classy SL half backs and are currently going great guns for Leigh. Any team that has both half backs absolutely firing as they do will always take some stopping. Mortimer has been a revelation since coming in a few weeks ago, him and Drinkwater are controlling everything behind the forwards, with Langi adding some strike on the edges.

I suppose Leigh will be equally wanting to nullify Lunt in the same respect , and let their 6 and 7 control the match.

It is a fascinating match in store.

Eh? By my reckoning only 3 of Leigh's starting 13 on Saturday ( and likely to be pretty much the same for this week) were aged over 30.

Micky Higham & Harrison Hanson for definite and I think Cory Paterson turned 30 the other week.

Add Vea to your over 30 quota, take Carney off ours and you will not be far off.

However add your bench and Tickle alone adds 3 years to your average!
