Noticed I suppose the inevitable has happened and Poundstretcher have started clamping down (not literally yet) on our free parking in their car park! CCTV cameras and notices erected warning of only 1 hour parking allowed and no return with 2 hours, £100 fine (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days)? I saw them and moved elsewhere but know many others didn't. I was tempted to stay as thought these kind of fines are not really enforceable following a recent case and that few, if any, reach Court? Would love to find out on here if any fines were actually issued for this car park last night and who will be made to pay up? All very unnecessary as the store itself was closed and shuttered up so no actual customers lost out. Would also love to know the club's take on this as presume the land is leased by whoever owns CP? If not they must have some say on it surely? Also heard rumours of cars parked on Preston Road getting tickets so an attack two fronts was launched on our and visiting supporters last night, well done to all concerned, a great advert for our City!

I presume that tickets are only issued to cars parked illegaly? & poundstreatcher pay for the car park for their own customers? That is not an attack on anyone, so why not use the club car park & at least the money goes to the club?

After mine and many other cars where broken into last season on Preston RD, i now have a season parking pass in the stadium, a bit more hassle getting out but not as much as paying excess and replacing windows.

I would do but as I understand it there is now no general parking available at the main club car park?! I previously used the car park behind East Stand as the club got the money but this has now gone.

Not true, As someone who's been using the "Poundstretcher" car park all season, I switched to the main car park last night when I saw the new sign. Paid the man & used the car park.

Reckon they are probably just trying to get people used to not parking there as they are open when you normally play on a Sunday which would affect their customers.

If you got a ticket, I'd hold out, pretty sure it won't be enforceable, they'll ramp the pressure but they have no grounds.

I'm not a lawyer and it's a while since I read up on this stuff.

My legal team have been working day & night on this one.

They tell me that you're kind of right, they're only enforceable if there is proof that you parking where you have done had had an adverse effect on that person/businesses profits.

So, Nuuk Council issuing tickets for parking in disk zone without a ticket - unenforceable. Big Bri, landlord of the Clampers Inn, clamping you for parking in his empty car park overnight - unenforceable.

But if you parked your Lamborghini in front of a warehouse goods entrance, stopping lorries getting out for deliveries. Pay up.

Poundstretcher is a funny one. If the car park is jammed with rugby fans and there's nowhere for customers to park, it'd be fair to say it'd be adversely effecting em.

That's how I understand it anyway.
