Would never believe the transformation of the club in under 10 years. Amazing work by all involved as we enter what could be our biggest season in as many years as we can remember.
Very excited by our squad and the season can't come soon enough.

Even though its been a helluva roller coaster ride during that period I wouldn't have missed a moment of it because it has got the club to where it is now.

In particular, the North Stand development has created a new wave of optimism (and feel good factor) so lets hope it translates to success on the pitch.

Looking at the 2014 squad there is a sense that something is in the air - the blend of youth and experience seems balanced - so, like you, I am chomping at the bit for the new season.

The transformation of the Club and facilities over the past 10 years has been nothing short of remarkable. I think sometimes when we have a little moan we should have a think back to where we where 10 years ago.

At this time of year it's always the same, the old season has disappeared into the mist of time and the withdrawal symptoms are starting to bite. The new season seems a long way off and the renewed optimism of fans is fuelled by the players returning to pre season training, the new shirts being launched and the fixtures are published. Every year we all think the on paper our new team seems great and yes, this is going to be our season. The reality is that it will probably be pretty similar to the last few seasons, we have some good results, some bad results, our fair share of injuries, the usual bad referees and spend the majority of the season in the top eight. Finally finishing the season a couple of weeks before the grand final, watching the challenge cup on television and slagging of our neighbours on the dark side.

Same old, same old. but we will still go week in week out in the vain hope that this season will be different.

Misery guts

Isn't that why the club are spending money investing in new medical facilitieswhile also upgrading the doctors and physio rooms. The club have also hired additional medical & conditioning staff along with extra massuers.

That's certainly one reason why I'm more optimistic for the coming season. Payers spending more time on the pitch rather then the treatment table.

You haven't visited here in a few years then I assume.

And to think there was 10500 in there for first game against Trafford I think. Health and safety would have had a field day with hundreds sat on the grassy mounds!

The most important change to the facilities was the pitch, the RFL were threatening demotion unless it was sorted and that was from the Championship, having corners on the pitch was also quite an innovation

Beg to differ I think. Am sure I saw an attendance figure of 10500. Was in the east stand that day. Score something like 44-6?

It wouldn't have been 10500 would it. The capacity with the golf stand was only 10200.
Thought the score was something like 50-0???
