Apparently he has no intention of playing for England (What are the chances if selection anyway) as he classes himself as Aussie with regard to international RL (Again what are the chances of selection anyway).
He has stated that he has had a row with his mother over it as she has said that her being English means he should at least consider it.
He also made the point that due to his views he wouldn't feel the honour for playing for England that a genuine Englishman such as Scott Taylor would.
It is such a shame that others that have even less connection to England than Rhys does don't see it the same.

Whilst his 'I'm an Aussie and won't sell out to England' is an admirable stance and a refreshing change from the Rangi Chase debacle. It does make a bit of mockery of his British passport situation IMO. Without his English heritage/passport he wouldn't be playing in this country.

After listening to the interview I got the impression he wouldn't entertain the idea even if it came off because of the fact that he wouldn't see it as much of an honour are a English born players would (He gave the example of Scott Taylor).
