| Who isn't going this weekend and why aren't you going?
Discounting those who can't afford either the money or the time, or have something else on.
I've been an advocate of the Magic Weekend since the first one in 2007. A festival of RL, the chance to visit a city other than your own and see 7 games of RL at very low prices.
I'm still puzzled as to why some people (except for those who fall into the categories above) don't fancy it?

| I'm only going on the Saturday, it's only a forty minute train journey to Manc foe me so I'm not going to stay over.
If it was further away then I'd stay and go to most games, Cardiff was perfect.

That's fair enough. It was more aimed at those who are avoiding it altogether.
They'll be the same ones sat at home moaning about the concept and whinging about empty seats.
Cardiff was brilliant though, didn't like Murrayfield.

| I`m not going this weekend....
simply due too the fact it is the weekend i get to see my kids....
and they take priority over rugby...
will hopefully have them at rugby in the not too distant future...
(just the visit times are not the best for rugby just yet)

| I wish I could go. Loved Cardiff, didn't go to Murrayfield.

| Cardiff is the best venue for this type of event and I went to all 3 there for the full weekend. We did the 1st Murrayfield one, hated it even though I love Edinburgh. The logistics of city centre relative to stadium is crucial and the reason why I also have my doubts about this weekend. Just a day trip for me this time.

| Think this thread is all wrong myself - were preaching to the already converted on here.
Weve sold over 3000 tickets, most people on here go to away games, so the 1500 (max) that go to away games will go to this, the other 1500 are people that go to the odd away game or fancy a weekend away watching plenty of rugby.
I myself loved it in Cardiff, brill atmosphere around the town and in the pubs. Murrayfield- went to the 1st one and locals were more interested in the marathon run thing that they had going on (which also ment shocking travel through the centre) it was just not as good as it could/should of been, the only carnival atmosphere was just inside the Murrayfield gates. Went to the next one watched the game and came straight home.
Etihadmagic- going friday coming back sunday, get drunk friday, will watch the saturday games in town centre and get there before our game starts then a night out in manc with fellow RL fans (not interested in waiting 90mins between each game when its a stadium in the middle on knowhere) then travel back sunday at watch sky+.

Whilst 3,000 is fairly good, there are still approx 4-5,000 Rovers regulars not bothering.
It's a similar scenario with other clubs too. I'm just struggling to understand why some RL fans are against the concept.

I think 3000 is really good to be honest. Is there 4-5000 regulars not bothering??
At the end of the day its an Away game, therefore you should compare it to your away game ticket sales.
It won't be that people are against the concept, as it looks like your travelling with similar numbers or more than you usually travel with.
I think the main reason for people not going is the same as away games, money pure and simple.

It's not just an away game though is it?

| If Rovers have shifted 3,000 tickets then that's a good effort. I think our previous best was about that number for Cardiff 2008.

| Quote: Barnabus "It's not just an away game though is it?'" It probably is exactly the same due to financies being tight for lots of people as far as paying for it.
As an example I cannot go and I have only missed 1 before simply due to financies.

Financially, it's a similar outlay to an away game (if you go for the day). But, it's not just your standard away game, it's an event for the whole of Superleague to come together, and to watch 3/4/7 live games of elite RL.
As I said in my opening post, if people aren't going due to money being tight, I absolutely understand and your not the people I'm getting at.
