I think you mean Hull might offer Abdul and £150,000 for Oakes Jake...the kid has the potential to be a top line international player, with the greatest respect to Abdul that is never going to be the case for him.

One of the most puzzling aspects of Sheen's team picks this season has been Shaw been picked every week and Oakes only now and then. I know he is only 18 but he is a definite future international prospect who will be very very good very quickly, whereas Shaw is your archetypal journeyman on his sixth club who is as good now as he is ever going to be and is nigh on 25...

Oakes scores for fun in the academy and is clearly too good for that yet is underused whilst Rovers are in a league open to bringing youngsters through. Cannot fathom the thinking...

Shaw reminds me of Jamie foster when he looked great at saints but never found next level.competent but not stand out. Saying that Talanoa has done ok with similar ability. Our team has suddenly started to look decent in forwards and outside backs but same issues remain in half's. Ellis has more natural ability but Abdull has consistently performed and trimmed down . attitude looks spot on.The real issue is us as a team going into a season desperate for promotion with 2 main pivots loan players who aren't deemed good enough for their respective teams to play in the league we are aspiring towards.We need a real general more than anything else. Ideally a half and a Fifita type if we signing 2 more but a Dobson/Chisholm style half is the final piece I think

Hope we keep Abdul. Masses of potential. Up to now second for player of the year behind Lunt who has been outstanding.
Abdul was our best player at Leigh and went well at Salford. He is a running half back (12 tries this year and plenty of breaks).
I get the disappointment of not seeing Oakes more in the first team. However he's played first team and looked good. He's 18 and needs protecting. Sheens has coached and developed some of the games greats (Clyde, Stewart, Marshall etc). I think he knows what he's doing.
