Why is there not being a derby a good thing?

I think people are glad there's no derby as its totally been over done the past 10 years.

In the good old days derby matches were some thing to look forward to. Two matches a season, one home, one away unless we met in a cup tie. Then the RFL started playing silly buggers. The usual games plus an additional one to make up game numbers plus magic weekends. Playing four competitive matches plus a pre season friendly! Even when they stopped playing some teams three times in the regular season there were still four if you include the friendly.

Talk about overkill.
