| Tim Sheens will have certain standards that he expects his teams to play at, if they don't it's very refreshing to hear his disappointment instead of excuses.
We have to remember that in the championship there are lots of experienced players who know how to slow the game down to meet their teams requirements.
Also what the referees at this level will and won't allow to go unpunished. We have a lot to learn, not just the opposition.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| Just seen the full game on Hull KR.TV. That was an ugly win against a very spirited and dogged London side, with some skilful players.
Lowlights - our defensive line speed, our flappy tackling and initial collisions, our goal line defence again, our execution in the final 20 and our overall kicking game again. Worst player - easily James Greenwood. Poor in every facet. He looked totally off the pace all game. Scruton's offload leading to the Purcell kick through for the Dixon try was pure insanity.
Highlights - our spine, particularly our halves, our intensity on some sets yielding positive results, our willingness to take on the line and the skill of Quinlan and Heffernan. Best players - Mitch Clark, followed by Abdull, Quinlan, Ellis, Heffernan and Shaw.
Lots to work on before we go to Rochdale.

not seen the game yet, but from what you say, and the reports I've read, the spine seems to be playing at a different level to the support players.
If that's the case, lots to do on the training pitch this week.

| Watched it Hull KRTV. Whereas Bradford were pretty good considering the turmoil there, London were just pretty good I thought. Tbh the main difference between the sides at half time was that Rovers just took their chances better. When they pulled it back to 12-16 that was a fair reflection to that point.
Rovers stepped up a gear, briefly, but then switched off a little perhaps and tbf London responded well. Nice to see us give away a penalty on the penultimate play so we could get the defensive line set! The most painful lessons are those you remember best, and there's some reassurance that ultimately the comeback fell short and we held on.
Individually Greenwood was disappointing, but he was definitely testing his knee at some stoppages in play. Needs resting or, as Pickering says another one of those and somebody else deserves a shot. Blair was almost Trappist quiet, without doing owt wrong. A positive in the backrow was Lawler who looks bigger and hopefully better in 2017. The spine (vertebrae?) were all pretty decent.
We weren't great, but London weren't at all bad either.

The decision on "resting" players will be our first taste of T.S. coaching style.
Do you change the team following a poor display and use the squad irrelevant of the appornants thus sending out the message that no one player is greater than the team ?
Or do you perciver with the occasional below average performance but keep the team together to build understanding and development of game plans ?
Is it best to wait until we play what is pesived as a "weaker" team to rest players and use the squad to test development.
We have a lot of young players in the squad now and no under 23 team for them to play in. We have to use them and build their skill sets so when required ( thinking of last 2 seasons injury situation) are match ready to step in a understand the plays and calls. Going on loan isn't always the answer and there is only so much you can learn on the practice pitch.
