| Big year for Liam, had horrendous luck with shoulder injuries the past 12 months.
Previous to that a solid and brave defender who lacks a little creativity in attack and doesn't score enough tries.
I hope he has a good run at it this year because he seems to be appreciated by his peers.

| Salter will never have a better opportunity to improve than under Tim Sheens. We just can't expect to much to soon. He's been out a long time and will be slow to get back to full game speed plus he will be thinking about that shoulder for the first couple of games.
I think if he keeps fit he will make the centre spot his own.

Maybe, but doubtful. Minns is a class above Salter as long as he stops getting concussed.
Salter never really set the world on fire even when fully fit. He didn't do much wrong, he was just average. Salter may improve this year, and if so that's good news as we have to get back to SL in this first year.
As for the derby, I can see Kelly having a point to prove with some flashy moves. Keeping him quiet would be quite an achievement.

| It will be interesting to see how fit Kelly is. On radio Humberside, Radford said something about Kelly not setting any PB's in the gym or hitting his development targets as yet.
So wondering if he's been named just to boost ticket sales.

Never truly stated, but U wonder if Kellys lack interest in training was another reason why Rovers fell out with him. In 'Judas?' Cookie sounds like he had a similar issue just because he was naturally talented, until he eventually turned his life around.

| I notice Clarkson has inherited Tilse's number 10 shirt - possibly suggesting he's seen as prop? Matt Cook has made a similar transition, I guess.

| Just seen Leicester city's squad for Sunday and the pub landlord was true to his word and mainly kids with a sprinkling of older heads.Kelly will get 30 minutes on the pitch apparently. Whilst not advocating injury to any player I would hope someone gives him a good belt early on.fwiw I think fc have actually been smart here.win and we couldn't even beat their fringe larkers, lose and it was just a 2nd string all the while getting yards into the back up players then build up to their league campaign.radford may be learning it seems? I suspect a couple of year ago he would have played first team and tried to batter kr maybe picking up few injury etc.

| Just wondering if any of the Hull "fringe" players will be coming back to CP with us ?
Tim Sheens said on the radio last night that we could possibly be about to sign 2 props, one a "local lad" the other an Aussie.
He also said Shillington is about to retire so would not be one of them.

I'm not sure we would be willing to let any of our props leave as a transfer. But Ross Osbourne on loan perhaps?

I've not actually heard Radfords comments, I've just been told about them, so I could be wrong, but I get the feeling you might be taking him out of context there.
The way I heard it was that he said Kelly doesn't really like training and is never going to set records in the gym, but put a rugby ball in his hands and he transforms. From pics I've seen of him he's actually looking in great shape.

More hard nosed experience needed up front. We were a prop light before Tilse left anyway. Where's Scott Wheeldon these days?
