30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Dixon needs to be at Fullback
But, he needs to do it in defence in a very basic manner, his one on one tackling is a lot better than he is given credit for. I will however Labour this point yet a bloodygain.
Yes, Fullback is the last line of defence, but if gets to that, your whole defensive structure has failed. One on one with a fullback is very similar to a penalty kick in Association Football, if you stop it then you've done very, very well. Most of the time there will be attacking players flooding through the line.
The last Old Skool full back was probably Briscoe, but you need more than that now.
Dixon needs to spend more time on being a third or fourth pivot and honing his passing game.
We've all seen that Cockayne has absolutely no right to left passing game, I like his enthusiasm and his scoots from dummy half in exit sets are often excellent, but Dixon offers so much more. He has electric pace from marker and superb footwork.
If we don't exploit his natural talent it's the fault of the club, not Dixon.

| Quote: TheRealisticOne "My whole point is that we have several academy players in this country that may never get a shot because we bring in hasbeen aussies, Lancaster@FC looks some playe, Young Smith at Leeds, Young Wardle at Hudds is awesome, Paisley at Wigan. We have so many players in this country with potential that do 'stand out'. With a lack of a decent reserves team a massive portion of these will be lost to the game. As a former coach of a super league academy team I have seen several of these first hand and believe that the system is failing them, so much so that I stood down from my position!!!!'"
It's a problem with the game as a whole but Jamie peacock and rovers seem to be trying to change the way young lads are dealt with, the club have obviously seen oakes"s talent and they will obviously do the best by him and will nurture him so he is ready to play super league

| JP seems to be keen on bringing in decent young English talent (Minns, Shaw, Mulhern, Oakes, Wardill, Moran, Cator to name but a few), I am not suggesting that they are all Super League grade players right now but if they can be nurtured in the coming years who knows, we may even see an all English SL team hahaha. If this is JP's ethos then the future could be bright, and I agree with the points that there is no need to rush these lads. JP and Webbo will know when they are 'ready' and will only use them then.
