Sorry about your Grandma I'm sure she will always live on in your memory quite rightly.
I reckon Chessie got the team up for it today the first half was a very tough closely contested physical game of rugby between 2 very determined teams. Nothing in it really until as half time approached at 4-4 Greg Eden with half the Widnes team to beat stepped, swerved and fended past all of them in brilliant fashion...until with nothing but an open field in front of him then amazingly dropped the ball. Inevitably Widnes then score on the next set. 10-4 half time.
As we have seen a number of times this year Rovers then fall apart
Second half was a complete shambles and as we have seen many times Rovers then start knocking on at the play the ball, throw the ball straight into touch etc.. Even your Grandma would have been at a loss I reckon.
I wouldn't try to teach your Grandma to suck eggs but after 23 games and only 4 left maybe the real problem is we actually are not very good really.
Possibly we are not too far apart on this issue really, it would be surprising almost a miracle in fact if the very best coach available in the whole world has actually been on our coaching staff for 5 years all along.
Chris Chester is a great bloke he was a good player too and he knows the game of rugby league. But after a shocker like today the players must be mightily relieved they are facing him when they report back for training and not a Shaun Wane or a Paul Anderson. He may have 'put a smile back on faces' in training but I suspect that would be well low down on the list priorities of Wane or Anderson
