Personally I would give Chester the opportunity on a minimum 2 yr deal. The man has served his time and deserves a chance and a chance to have some impact on the quality and quantity of players we need to attract and tie down to the club. I imagine there will be quite a number of personnel changes next year, both on and off the pitch and whoever we have next needs to be given as much time as possible to stamp their own mark on the job. Its a fantastic opportunity for someone. I for one hope its Chris Chester.

Thing is 3 games into his tenure the team throw the towel in against a team we are battling with for 8th. Doesn't bode well with me for his authority and presence.

I take your point and am not naive enough to think that any coach is every players cup of tea.I just think that given the amount of time hes spent as assistant the guy deserves a bit of respect and a chance to prove himself. If the players throwing the towel in don't want to play for him or any HKR coach then they don't deserve to be called professional sportsmen and all the prestige that goes with it. The same players stuck 40 on Saints in his first game.Gentles defeat at Huddersfield and the apparent player power to oust him has done little for the west side and if the same culture happens here then three season passes are going straight in the bin.

If he was assistant at a club with great discipline and some success, yeah, he'd deserve a shout. However, he's been at the club right through alongside the problems and shortfalls.

Probably a bit optimistic but I'd be finding out what Anthony Griffin's plans are.
