Surprised (only mildly!) that in light of all this idiocy in pansyball over Januzaj playing for England, that rugby has not been brought up.'"
As the World has got smaller, concepts of nationality are becoming more fluid. A fair few countries have emerged or disappeared in our lifetime too. RL adopts the approach it does out of necessity, but it is the way things are heading, I reckon. You only have to look at Tongan-born Lesley Vainikolo playing League for New Zealand and Union for England. Kevin Pietersen, John Barnes, Mo Farrar and so on.
Di Stefano played for Argentina, Colombia and Spain, Kubala for Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Spain (plus Catalonia), so it's not even all that new.
