Quote oyster bay="oyster bay"No not that he's aware of, he's not ready to leave Yorkshire at this time. However, he was told he's been offered to Hull FC and was naturally a little disappointed with this, he's comfortable with his three year contract at Rovers.'"
Fecking ridiculous.
I'm not doubting the validity of this in anyway, but even if it's not the case, the fact that we've allowed Rhys to feel like this or have a sniff of this is a disgrace.
If that comes across incorrectly, I'll happily correct it.
Let's look at the facts.
The lad came over as a teenager and has given his all. This was from our first season in Super League and he really had very little job security and left his family and friends to travel half way across the world.
That was over six years ago.
He's constantly put his body on the line, and done absolutely everything that any coach has ever asked of him. To his own personal detriment he's played every position other than six, seven and nine.
Fair enough I've taken the rise out of him for his lack of French language skills in the past, but come on Rovers, Rhys is one of us.
Do we want committed players that buy in to our ideals, beliefs, traditions and are prepared to give that back in spades?
Yes.
And who has done that more in this era that Rhys Lovegrove?
