THEY ARE NOT CONTROLLED BY A 4TH OFFICIAL...... NO OFFICIAL OF ANY SORT SAYS YES OR NO TO ENTERING THE PITCH..

it is controlled by the TEAMS.... NOT the Ref, NOT the linesman, NOT the reserve ref, NOT the time keeper and NOT the Match commissioner...

THIS IS WHY TEAMS FALL FOUL OF THE RULE....... but lets not let a fact get in the way eh!!!!

In the letter of the law you are probably right, but by the spirit you are way off the mark. the play was carrying on he took no part & was trying to get off the pitch, should FC play a man short untill he limps accross the field? If it was Rovers I would be livid. We lost, move on, it's Leeds next.

Strange that, because the RFL list the following in their Operational Rules

Substitutes 2. (a) Each team may nominate a maximum of four replacements before the start of the game. Their names along with those of the players must be given to the referee before the start of the game. A maximum of 12 interchanges will be allowed from the 17 named players.

Just give it up. The lad was injured, not interfering wth play and virtually off the pitch. Rules are great but common sense needs to prevail a little.

For the record, the penalty try was about right.

Sick of officials not being able to judge forward passes though. Happens in every games but doesn't mean we should just accept it as 'part of the game'.

then how do teams manage to break the rules and have more than 13 players on the pitch...

And how many times has it happened? Salford this season, Saints v Hull a few years back...

wow..... so you are saying that because i open a debate from a story from a national paper that i`m way of the mark....

spirit does not account for rules

for the record i never noticed any wrongdoing... i`m just debating the story... rules state they have to have left the pitch, it doesn`t state a time frame or distance they have to travel(ie back to bench).

as for should fc play a man light....this happens week in week out without teams complaining or fans or newspapers bringing or raising the point...
